So what is that circle in my gun sight that floats all over the place.

What's it for?
What does it do?
What is it telling me?

Thanks all.

I'm not sure about the circle but you have to assign a key to raise the seat.

I think the little circle dealy is some kind of pitch and yaw indicator... the circle represents the tail.. and that relative to the sight tells you if your yaw angle.

The circle is a velocity vector indicator - it shows the actual direction in which your aircraft is moving.

Its apparent purpose in PF is for carrier landing practice - as it makes judging angle of attack very simple.

The seat position can only be adjusted in some carrier based types (F4U, A6M etc - though not the F6F) and only then with the canopy open. It requires a user defined key binding in the control screen. IIRC its a fair way down - it has "seat" in the command name.
