I meant to ask earlier. . .It doesn't have movable control surfaces does it??

I am looking for some replacements to my old instructional models, and somethign that looked like that would look a lot better on my desk when not in use than the ugly home made ones I have been using. It looks rather delicate though. Anyone know of something semi-durable and with movable surfaces??

I could be wrong, but those look exactly like the ones I saw at my local walmart(if one has it, most likely they all do). I think they are selling for 40 bucks. Last I saw, they had a spit, P40, dora, 109, and a P47. The dora from JV44 looks very familar. I picked up a 109e a while back. Well actually my wife got it for me. Not bad, big and average detail, but I would rather build them myself.

Oh boy - it's 20 years ago since I've build one myself - maybe I should take it up again. When I was a kid we used to glue them together with a firecracker inside the fuselage & the fuse sticking out where the tail wheel was supposed to be - & guess what we did... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

This is sorta O/T here, but not really....

I live on a tiny river and I've been thinking about doing something on floats- or ski's for winter flying. Of the flyable planeset now, did any see service on skis or floats?

If you pick J-8A on a winter map you get skis.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif Awesome looking model, Ivan!

and a very nice collection of planes and tanks you got there http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I tend to collect the somewhat lesser known models though, and i have no time to paint or give them decals, so my shelf is full of grey models http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Though, i bought a Chaika 1:72 scale this summer, pretty rare over here, and i will make that one complete, including paint http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Ivan,
I'm on a 21st Century 1:18 buying benge also... So far.. P47 Jug, ME109 Emil, FW190 with the Red/White candy striped bottom... Looking for a P51 and will be getting a stuka also http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Of the 1:32nd flavor... I have a blue nosed p51, ME262, and another 109E. Will post some pics soon....still in the process of hanging them... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Eco: Some of the surfaces are movable on the 1:18 scale...and they're really good looking planes!

Naww, mrs Crazyivan doesn`t mind. She kinda likes it too. Office looks like ww2 museum in scale hehe. Hell, she`s ready to kill me for each ps of hardware i buy... but when plane arrives she says nothing http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_redface.gif Go figure. When Spitfire, P-47 and P-38 came together... even then...not a word. Women are strange.

Ok,http://mywebpage.netscape.com/JeroentjeNt/IL2FB/fw190a-8.jpg here's my attempt: FW 190A-8, Hasegawa 1/72th scale. Still bugged by the opaque decals, should have sprayed the black and white markings.

Built it some years ago, also still have a DML 1/48 FW 190A-5 looking like it has been hit by AA. Haven't got much time to finish that one http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

and Ivan, i just saw this on thier forum:

quote:
There are so many I thought I should assemble a "flight line roster for the upcomming planes". Here is what I have, let me know if I have missed any.

BF 109-E "night fighter" - ETA october
Putt Putt Maru p-38 - ETA october
ME-109 G6 S1 - ETA october
BF-109-E "adolf galland" - ETA october / november
P-47 bubbletop "eagleston" - ETA november
TBM Avenger - ETA december
ME-109 G6 S2 - ETA december

ok so this last quarter of the year represents like 3 years of releases if you were to compare them to the early years. -gone are the days of only buying 2 planes a year! -bring it on!

he left out the tropical 109 and there was this other comment

quote:
I think that covers it for this year. Lots more next year:

MiG 15, F86, F104, F4, Me 262, maybe an Me 110, and who knows what all else. Plus maybe some new BBI goodies.

Hey Ivan those are very nice looking planes. I saw that Dora in Wal-Mart last month, I think they were $39, they had about six of them. I just had to stop and grin as I looked at it. A couple of the ones on the shelf were beat up abit, so check it closely if you buy in a store.

I did put it back on the shelf though, and walked a across the isle to pick up my 20th anniversary Optimus Prime. He's no Dora, but he's nice too, around 12" tall, 30 joints, weighs a couple pounds, die cast parts, nice bright paint. I had the original as a kid, so why not pick up this one? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
