View Full Version : Maybe this would make PF more readily available.

What if the box cover was changed to feature some grimacing, sweating, bandana wearing steroid enhanced freak with a buzz cut and a torn up muscle shirt reaching out of his shot up Corsair to grab a chainsaw as he flies through a cloud of fire as parts of recently dismembered aliens fall away beneath him. Maybe then the poc-mark infested brat-punks would tug on mommies Edy's double-fudge-chunk encrusted shirt (recently pulled from storage for this oh-so special occasion of traveling to the department store) to buy Pacific Fighters.

As some of you may have guessed I just returned from a fruitless sojourn to the retail stores. Gamestop's PC section was British Knights shoebox minus the lid. Best Buy had 652 copies of Doom-3 clouding out the rest of the software. At EB-Games I had to fight through the cobwebs to get to the now defunct PC section located at the back of the store beside the Grand Theft Auto action figures.

Well, maybe some slight exaggeration, but apparently PC-gaming has fallen by the wayside. And before someone tells me that Prozac is a good thing, this post is being made in jest...sort of http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

I've been all over the place looking for it too. GameStop today told me that they'd have it when UPS showed up. I went back & guess what didn't come in. Knew I should've called, heck I'm tempted to order online and have it shipped hot.

I just got back from a fruitless crusade myself Hunde. EB Games didn't know what I was talking about. Gamestop said they weren't going to stock PF. Every other store went some thing like this.

me: Do you have Pacific Fighters in yet?

them: <inquistive deer in headlight look> huh?

me: Its a WWII Flight Sim produced by UBI.

them: uhhhh let me check the computer.

hmmmmm ...

<click> <click> <click>

OH! here it is. Looks like you are two weeks too early. Should be on the shelves on the 11th.

me: grumble off muttering incomprehensible insults (after the 6th store not so incomprehensible)

I'm just going to bite the bullet and order online, what I spend in shipping I'll save in gas.

Some grain of truth in here. Maybe a Corsair with guns blazing would have helped the american market. And BIG explosions, maybe even the A-bomb.

BTW: Does PF comes in different flavors (boxart)?
In Germany it has a Zero on it.
