I actually disagree strongly that they should accept that fact that the TSAs won't recognise the MOH

I find it unacceptable. if the man was dangerous, honest to God security should have come over. In my State, the Troopers would have recognised the MOH instantly, and probably knew who Foss was

Apologies in advance to any TSAs here, but I have a friend who works for the State department. I've flown with him to DC

he assures me that the TSAs are dumb as a box of rocks

You get what you pay for; and we ain't paying much. To be fair, some of the TSA people I've encountered are on the ball, regretably, many are not.

Ye gads man, what has this nation become. That is one of the saddest things I've ever read.

This guy survives 'Tojo Time', Spam, dehydrated potatoes, captured rice and all kind of tropical diseases while at Guadalcanal. Survives all sorties there and after as well. Just to be suspected being and old man planning to play ninja in a passenger plane more than sixty years later. I still do not blame those officials, I think they were taught medals after that. But he had to be the one to get the humiliation...
Somehow typical, not only in US methinx. Life is just so nice in western world, an immediate yawn for olde war stories http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I wish you two would have some respect for this thread and its purpose. We are not talking about blue sky or "thingies" here but about the Medal of Honor!!! It is a shame that not everyone in this country knows what the MoH is or many other things about our veterans. I could talk on this subject for hours. Maybe I will post again in here later. Whenever the MoH or its recipients are mentioned only the highest respect should be payed and is why I am upset with the former two posts!! Let's get serious here.

The Terrorist have gotten what they wanted....they have ruined everyday life for most of the world, and thats not to mention the Billions of Dollors thrown around. You know this to be true when even a Clear Bottle of water is suspected of being used to cause harm http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif.

I was refused entry to the USS Constitution (an old wooden sailing warship for those who don't know) because I was carrying a small pen knife. I also had a nail clipper removed from my luggage at an airport by TSA.

A country of bed wetters is an apt description.

Old news, TSA didn't even have a chance to get organized way back when this happened, noobs. By the way, Joe's been dead for a few years. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

God bless that courageous guy.

Its a shame we are growing into a historical degenerate society. I just got my BS degree and was amazed at the people who never learned anything about WW2. One smart guy going on to med school told me the Japanese attacked Pearl and then we immediately nuked em ending WW2.

I sat down with him for over an hour telling him more than he ever knew and too bad we didnt have more time.

Very sad as I can see were people are ignorant of genocide.

No Problem.

Christ, you would have thought i'd pissed on Vietnam Memorial or something

Anyone Else?

We'll get to really see how screwed up our priorities are today when the 9-11 memorial site is under 20 feet of water because we spent our time fighting and spending our money on the war on terror. Global warming will deal the biggest blow by far.

Melting ice certainly scares me more than the MOH.

While RCAF_Irish_403 was not urinating on a war memorial, he was being disrespectful in a thread about a great man who was one of only approximately 100 men still alive who have received the Medal of Honor. Go talk about mammary glands elsewhere! In the future please make note that it is not wise to pi$$ off those of us who are combat vets that frequent these forums (not to mention those you may meet on the street), not because it will start a brawl (a virtual one maybe), but because all combat vets have earned a certain amount of respect. Would you have the guts to throw such things into a conversation while talking about Joe Foss to a combat vet on the street? You will get your rear end handed to you. We are not merely individuals who sit behind our computers and play combat games. We have done this for real and have put our lives on the line for people that have never done it and they live with the same freedoms that we earned for them. For those that respect the veterans and know that there is a time and place for certain things I thank you.

Choctaw blew a gasket because i replied to Plowman's post on the first page.

Just get a look at the three posts after your initial post. Apparently i've just insulted every single MOH recepient and veteren in the US military

*(shrugs shoulders in disbelief)*

If anything, i thought my first post was out of line-too political and too pointed.

Ploughman cracked a joke and i riffed off it...the way normal internet conversation happens. The last thing on my mind would be to disrespect anyones service in the armed forces

Choctaw: (last you'll ever hear from me-honest) As a member (former? present?)of the armed forces you are entitled to my gratitude for your service. Rest assured, you've got it. However, I am not bound by the protocols or conventions that you are. I don't have to respect your opinion or point of view. I'll make a joke whenever I damn well please...if it's out of line I'm sure a moderator will give me a "hint".

Furthurmore, I won't be bullied or intimidated on a public forum by someone i don't even know. The only person who can do that is my Father and you are not him. I'll post how I please, as I please until the mods here figure otherwise.

I'm sorry you took offense as none was intended.

Of all the things to get up in arms about, this rates a zero. Whatever offense YOU PERCIEVED is in your head...and I don't get paid to play shrink

**Edit** Forget all that. maybe i've been looking for a reason to take a hike anywho (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/4901057235)

The TSA have earned the reputation of Gestapo.
Their treatment of passengers and their condecending
attitude are fast becoming legendary.

I had an experiance with them at Manchester NH
last year. The Collings Foundation B-17 and B-24 were visiting.
The TSA ran that event like the Gestapo they have become.
I will not relate any details as they have a reputation
for making whiners into targets.

The TSA should be disbanded, they have become a national embarassment.
TSA is staffed by misfits and wannabes. You know, the
kids that really wanted to become cops because they liked power?

We have had time to hire and train real law enforcement officers.
We have had ample time to rid ourselves of this band of
second rate retirees and wannabes.

Any TSA reading this? SHAME on you and your tin horn organisation.

Sergio
