Yeah, I remember these kind of things, in the year 1996 to 1997 my dad bought lots of game magazines, and these came with CD's. There were videos, non-playable demos, and demos, and the demos were playable from the CD or installed in the HD. Nice remembrances. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm also waiting it to get published, can't wait any longer, uff. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Yea,all good except..

I hope we can get rid of all the dial's and stuff when playing and see a full un-cluttered screen, nothing to remind you its a game if you no what i mean...i'm sure all control's/commands could be accesed via key's and or dial's pop up via key's!!

Also right at the very end when he is within reach of an enemy an option comes up

Engage Enemy

Continue order's

Periscope depth

What happen's if you Engage enemy??

Yeah, thanks for this UbiRazz, it really shows off how polished SH3's interface is. I love the extra map functions.

Just out of curiousity was this video specifically created as a teaser for the website or do we also get a series of videos like this in the full game in addition to the naval academy training missions ?

Graphics:
Looking at the latest screenies at subsim and now seeing this video makes me realise how clever the Dev team are at creating such a masterpiece, this sim will be like a Rembrandt or a Constable...priceless.

Gameplay:
The method of U-baot control is in SH's great tradition of using a GUI ( Graphical User Interface ), this makes for an enjojable experience at handling the sub rather than a headache.

Technicalities:
The attention to detail as regards the working of the dials and instruments and indeed how they function along with the 'point and click' category is excellent, quick and straightforward.
The WWII 'look' to the instruments is also appreciated.

Summary:

Read peoples posts above LOL, they say it all.

WELL DONE DEV TEAM, YOUR SKILLS AND HISTORICAL CREATIVITY ARE SECOND TO NONE !

I just hope that the option exists for the plot writing to be in German. My crew is going to be speaking German, so I think it would be weird if they wrote on the map in English (as shown in this video).

I hope I won't need to buy the German version in order to get a fully realistic experience.

I must say I am very disappointed by the look of the map navigation screen. For the life of me I cannot understand why the map has to have such a lack of detail. Look at the pixel steps at the edge of the landmass! Also, why is the map so distorted? I have the copy of the German submarine navigation map that came with €œAces of the Deep€ and the grids are square, not rectangle! You can see that the land mass is distorted. It should have much more detail. Why not just duplicate the original German navigation maps? We have the screen resolutions to view it.

It really looks like we will have a 1024 x 768 game, shades of SH1 if you ask me. It is 2005 guys, get it right for a change!

That's a interesting question! Looks a lot as the tutorial videos in M1: Tank Platoon 2!

The documentary videos will be in game, for sure. So maybe all but the trailers will be at some point in the DVD I'm awaiting for.

Very nice.

I only have one request.

I'd really like to have voice command ala Dangerous Waters ... that would up the immersion level another notch.

I hope they consider doing this as an add-on or patch or anything ... mod it perhaps, dunno. I'm spoiled with Dangerous Waters voice commands.

I thought the devs had already said this was being worked on, here the quote:

DE_Forums: Will there be an option to command the U-Boat fully by voice? I only mean main functions, like diving, surface, man deck gun, fire torpedo etc...
(DevTeam): Currently there is a version of voice command already implemented. It is still "work in progress" and we hope it will make it to the final game.

Ok it is true that we havent had confirmation that this is included but maybe they are saving it as a surprise for the release version http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Can the kind people of Ubisoft give us a heads up on voice command?

Same here, I wont be playing SH3 in English. It will be in German only.

Theres nothing worse than a German soldier or whatever saying " Ok, you guys " and " aye aye Skipper " along with " She's comin right at us Cap'n ok Skipper take her down " in American accents like is some shoddy WWII movies that we've all seen.

No I dont speak good German, or read or write but so what..I'll pick it up.
The experience will be an added realism to the overall effect of U-Boat war.
