Posters, paintings, cartoons€¦ They all were used in the War to rally the populace to arms, to teach and warn€¦ Here are some that I have found that have a €˜presence€ for want of another word€¦ I will post their true meaning later€¦ Can you tell from the image alone, what it was€¦?

The first is easy€¦

The last two look like they're done by Salvador Dali http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

These guys were really expressing the horror and anguish of war. Amazing stuff.

I believe the last one is a Dali, actually, Hristo. The Tallit on the wall would make it a Jewish subject as well, yes.

Well... The first is a comment on the American reluctance to face the reality of the Nazi threat - an attitude that was fast losing ground.

The second - German black-out poster

Third - 'Luftwaffe' by the polish artist B.W.LINKE portrays the horror felt by those who experienced the Blitzkrieg.

Forth - Another painting by Polish artist Bronislaw Linke, "The Prayer of the Killed" A Jew, depicted surrealistically, prays amid the rubble of Warsaw.

First one, to me, blatently conveys the risk of being 'snowed under' by the Nazis.

Last one does look Dali-ish but not many of his trademarks in it.
