I'm not a violent person, really i'm not. But, whenever i see your little, green, lama thingy, i have this almost irresitable urge to kill something http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif.

Must fight urges.....red mist rising..... unable to speak.... at ...normal...speed.

So if you read about a crazed gamer on a murderous rampage sometime in the future, we will all know who to blame now, wont we.

That little green thing is cute. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

The new Pusstang looks cool, for sure. But it's still a Ford, sadly. I do want to test drive it though, see if some of the issues of "fordness" relating to feedback are still there.

I'd be willing to bet they still can't be our LS1s though. Haven't seen the numbers yet, but 04s were still getting beat even after 2 years of free time to try to close the gap. lol

I've read the reviews on this mustang and they say that it's the best one yet. Performance-wise, I heard the GT version is sweet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I also like the looks of them. I know some people don't like the look of the new mustang, but I for one am glad that they changed the body style that has been the same for like 10 years.

Oh, and I'd KILL for the new GT-40.

12-06-2004, 11:40 PM
Ya, I have had a few Mustangs starting with a '79 I bought for $400.00. The '85 5.0 was sweet. This is the first Mustang I really like in many years.

12-07-2004, 08:25 AM
You could take a late 70s Pusstang and bolt on 90's body panels and make it a new car. It was the same body for some crazy length of time.

Never much cared for the 5.slow models. The rear deck was too short and the spoiler looked cheesy being molded into the body. It was like an overgrown Escort or something. lol

Last good Mustang was prior to the Mustang 2. After that they were poser-mobiles. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

12-07-2004, 09:26 AM
Like the looks eh? I can tell you that you've never actually sat in one yet.... That greatest of all "fordness" dislikes, the interior from hell. ****, they need to fire their interior people and start fresh!

12-07-2004, 09:53 AM
I'll take a Vette over a Stang anyday http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif But beside that point, the new Stang, Vette, the new magnum wagon etc... are going old school, big engines, fast cars, I'm happy! You wanna check out a car look at the new Ford GT-40, it only costs $150,000 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

S! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The "new GT-40" is actually the Ford GT, they can't use GT-40 for legal reasons.

Loki, don't forget, mushy-everything, steering, pedal feel, gear selector, hell, even the key in the ignition is mushy (for lack of a better term). To say nothing of that irritating bell that is constantly going off when you open the door (the "reminder" is more than a bit overkill with Fords).

And that's not even getting to the more well known Ford-ness aspects. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Just saw the new issue of Motor Trend today - 5.1s 0-60, 13.5s 1/4, and .87gs.

Magazines rarely get the best out of a car unless they are dedicated, and even then, not always, so those numbers might be worse than it's actually capable of but......if we take those as accurate, it's STILL slower and worse in a turn than it's old rival(s) from the General. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Even if they manage to wring a bit more out of it, they might manage to equal my car.

Not bad for 3 years of free dev time Ford. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

(It was the GT, btw)

I'd love to have a 'Vette, but the C6 is a bloody Camaro in the front end. It's sacreligious. A nice, late C5 would rock though.

First time they made the stang look right since'69

But Id still take a 67-69 Dodge Dart 340, 383 440 or Hemi ( darts did come with all those at one time or another, the Hemi in 68 ) or a 65-69 Dodge Charger ( RT preferrably ) over any Chev, let alone Ford ugh!

F.O.R.D. =

fix or repaired daily

for old ******ed drivers

f*cked on rainy days

Have to admit tho, that new stang looks nice

Arguably, the Corvette is not a Chevy.

Yes, it carries the badge, but.... look at the history. The prototype was basically identical to the '53. It was shown off to GM by someone who's name escapes me, and it was arbitrarily given to Chevy by the heads at GM. And through the years the 'Vette has had it's own development team, it's own factory, and it's own leeway in GM that nothing else enjoys. It also pioneers most new engines and other tech toys that become corporate standards.

I love the 'Vette. I don't really like Chevy. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hmmm..... Just a guess here but, was it Harley Earl maybe?

The last really great Mustang:

Looks like they are getting it back on track now. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

How about the worst:

12-07-2004, 04:50 PM
I'll take a GT 500 over the 350, personally, but agree with ya on the pick of "worst". Though from that point on, competition for that honor was fierce. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Lest anyone get the wrong idea, I don't own a 'Vette (yet), though I'd love to.

No, I referenced the Mustangs traditional rivals. I've always been a fan of the cooler of the 2. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And for now, I don't mind not having a 'Vette. I'm having too much fun. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe the 05 Cobras will finally be able to beat us. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I can't drive yet... only 15 and parents won't let me have my drivers liscense

12-07-2004, 08:44 PM
Mine is a '68 Coupe. Black interior, yellow exterior.

12-07-2004, 08:45 PM
ive worked car dealerships for 13 years and ive got to say even though ive owned plenty of gm and ford vehicles...the interiors of camaro is the absolute worst. the center consoles always come completely loose the dashes fall apart they are slapped together and the carpets always come loose too.

that goes same for pontiacs too. voted worst interior of any sportscar ever the pontiacs.they literally fall to pieces.it might be fast but it has zero quality . and that comes from GM technicians aka mechanics.

Always gotta be some haters. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif Whatever dude.

This is my 3rd Trans Am (because I wrecked the other 2. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif ), 1st was an '84 with nearly 200,000 miles on it - It was a T-Top no less. Very little in the way of problems, even those expected with T-Tops. The 2nd was an '88 GTA hard top with about 90K miles on it when I lost it. No problems with it at all. Neither one had mechanical or body troubles, neither one had any interior problems.

Furthermore, neither one had the overly cramped Ford interiors or the mushy feel, or the poor design/build quality of Fords (learned first hand from working in a repair shop).

My '02 has no interior problems either.

I've never seen what people are on about when it comes to that, but whatever, it's their loss, be it in terms of wallet, performance, or coolness. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
