I have the basic and merged installs up to 404. Now im seeing lots of threads about the new DGEN, did any of this come in 404 or am i confused. I really need a slow crayon picture of whats what in dgen, saw lots of ones forpacific fighters on airwarfare, so im stumped and dont want to mess anything up. A crayon picture will be immeasurably helpful.

Bastables covered the new "DGen4043 Upgrade+BoE4.0 combination" pack. I posted a reply to a similar question as yours:

1. Nimits' TruePacific for DGen (v0.05) (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?download=2056) is an attempt to make the Pacific campaigns more historically accurate. It's a work in progress, but from the few missions I've tried I applaud the direction Nimits is taking. The carrier-based missions I've flown so far have better briefings, more flying time, and larger carrier groups than what I remember from the stock Pacific campaigns. Admittedly, I don't play the Pacific campaigns much.

2. The DGen 4043 Upgrade (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/63110913/m/6041024314/p/1) adds campaigns for the new Italian flyables and the Ju-88 bomber, and improves Ian Boys' earlier "NW Europe DGen" campaign by adding the TempestV, Mosquito and other new planes. You need to have your game patched to v4.04m. Ian's NW Europe map is one of my favorites in the game and I'm glad he has given us this campaign for it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif You can use his links for all the essential components and top it off with the latest version of the DGen.exe, version (http://www.il2center.com/DGen4045.rar). Or you can get the whole package plus relevant upgrades combined into one zip file here at combatace.com (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?download=2032). (Note: the Airwarfare.com link includes upgrade files for Battle Over Europe; these may cause BOE campaign options to appear in your campaign menu, but the campaigns should not be flyable without the commercial BoE addon.)

(Good find on the Enhanced Eastern Front campaign, Bastables! With these three free packs we now have three theaters covered. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )

402Fenrir is about to release his own major update for the BoE addon. I think this one will be a good one. Keep your eyes open for it; he says it will be ready in a couple of weeks.

Ian Boys' commercial DGen addon "OstFront" is designed for his Kurland and Murmansk maps, if you are looking for more Eastern Front campaigns; it was just released. "The Last Days" is another commercial DGen pack but for late war scenarios.

Just a quick note.

I decided to run a test to see if the TruePacific 0.05, Enhanced Eastern Front and DGen4043/BoE4.0 packs conflict with each other in any way. I dumped the DGen contents of all three into a common folder and only two files were in conflict:

Both TruePacific and DGen4043 have a version of these two files; TruePacific's are more recent but only by a couple of days. I opened these files up to take a look and from what I can see (at a cursory glance) the information in PacificPlane.dat is identical between the two; perhaps Nimits changed some values?

The other file, PlanesIN1.dat, is noticeably different between the two. To be honest I'm not even sure why the DGen4043 pack even has it, as it is sequence of Pacific operations. Maybe Ian Boys included it as a helpful quick fix to add the new Pacific planes in 4.03m to the DGen campaigns as flyables. Nimits' version of PlanesIN1.dat reorganizes the structure of the operations to include his new campaigns; if you're going to use the TruePacific DGen mod I suggest you defer to its version of these two files.
