Hi All.
Does anyone know, or use SLI mode for twin graphics cards. Just got and Asus A8N PCI SLI Mobo with 6800GT. Wondering if PF supports SLI. The Nvidia site says Pacific Fighters is supported but not sure.
Man this gamne eats the graphics card, just got a new system and still having to run less than perfect!SLI and another card would be great.
Cheers. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I'm not running it, but there's several threads from several users who've got PF running with an SLI setup. The frame rate in Water=3 apparently improves dramatically. Previously a lot of tweaking was required, but apparently the NVidia SLI profile for PF is top notch, people aren't reporting any problems.

That is, if you're willing to fork out for another 6800GT. Also, the people with dramatically improved frame rates were running 6800 Ultras, with the new type of graphics memory...so there may be a difference in performance there.

Anxiously awaiting a reply myself. I am about to order my new system and so far, I have not heard that SLI improves Pacific Fighters (or a lot of other games) all that much. I am seriously considering a GF6800 Ultra PCI express instead.

I am using it. I had to creat a profile for it but it upped my framerate about 20fps more than normal.

I am running 2 6800GT's on a machine with an FX 55 and 2GB of Crucial Ballistix RAM.

20 frames per second from two 6800GT cards? Is that an improvement over a single 6800 Ultra card?

Hey Guys thanks for the feedback.Sounds like it works then. Bit dissapointed I did not get the ultra but the plan was to run the second GT6800 if needed and when a bit cheaper. Unless anyone says it doesn't work I'll keep an eye on this post, otherwise will go for it. After a year in Warbirds 2004 I find the graphics fantastic in PF but want it to run top notch. Here are some SLI tests on Firingsquad.

€œNotes

IL:2 is far less telling, since at both 1024x768 and 1600x1200 all five boards are fairly even. The game is notorious for demonstrating more variability with difference processors tested, so perhaps we€re being limited by the Athlon 64 FX-55 in each scenario here.€

I say that SLI might be overkill today because the processors aren€t up to the demand.

Thanks for the link Viking-S,and Dutch60 excellent, obviously works well.
Have been running 1024 at perfect, water=3 and getting 42fps on average, 4x and 2x, but still gets ajgged edges, game has potential to look awesome.Am also using beta driver too, gave another few mhz

THis is sad. w/ top cards like 2 6800gts in sli, these posts show that you can only get water=3 at 1600 w/ barely 30fps.

I thought x800 xl was too expensive and overkill for this game. Guess i was wrong...

I'm using dual ultras. They work fine on good old 69 drivers.
