I was attacking a convoy yesterday and got between an armed C2 Cargo and a V&W Destroyer and dove deep, the C2 started shelling the destroyer and sunk it (watched from external view). Anyone see that before ? Friendly fire ? It was nighttime maybe the C2 didn't identify his target ?

I had the same thing happen to me also. I was in near a convoy and there was an armed C2 on one side and a tanker on the other side. The C2 started shelling at and I started to dive but realised the shells were hitting the tanker and the tanker finally sunk. I dove by this time because the C2 had a clear shot at me now.

I've seen this happen quite a lot, normally it's a destroyer hitting a merchant that's between me and him http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif or in one case a salvo from a battle ship blew a destroyer to pieces http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I had a similar incident with a neutral C2. I saw it had hurricane fighters stacked on it's decks, so I thought I might as well shoot them off with my AA gun while my guys were shelling the rest of the convoy. Ishot a couple and then the swine opened up on me with his deck gun! The cheek! The only armed freighters in the convoy were neutrals, and I had to go annoy one, spoiling a perfect day.

Anyway, I ended up running away from him and hiding behind another C2 for cover, but the guy kept plugging away until my covering ship was so badly damaged that he fell behind the rest and I was forced to move off at high speed. Wherever I went he blindly fired in that direction, hitting everything except me. Obviously it;s just a simple subroutine that controls the guns, since you're not meant to be duking it out with them on the surface.

it was a thing of beauty to me. an accident that caused a friendly fire situationthat was somewhat believable.
i got a fast moving contact well bgeyond my view. i thought it was a destroyer or lower class of escort vesel, but it turned out to be churchill's elco trp boat. it was on me literally in seconds, so i crashed D shallow and watch this guy circle my scope at 20-30ft away from my scope. no big lesson learned here, i know, but then suddenly a swoop of some bomber blew that boat to firey blazes! hurricane? between brest and bristol heading home to brest. 1941 winter. the hurricane? had been tailing me all day, but i would take my chances for better experience for flak petty officer. been up all night reading these posts. i figured it would save me some torps and gas to do so. i scored well on AA training but it still eludes me. cant tell good leading distance, or exactly when slow/fast Sub movement is beneficial to AA AI (your flak man)

And who gets renown for those kills?
(an honest question)
