I never saw this before and was wondering if this is dependant on where a ship is hit?

I had a impact torpedo that sank a small tanker yield quite the oil slick. It happens but not often.

I've got a few screens of oil, but I am not sure how to post them. They oil is a purple color, and I have seen it fairly often.
