With the F3f and F4f planes the gear does not operate from joystick or keyboard. But if autopilot is used, it works. This is some thing wrong? Controls are set as same for others.

In real life, the gear on those aircraft had to be retracted by hand, using a crank or hand pump. This is modeled in the game by mapping keystrokes on the Controls screen to "Rise Gear manually" (sic), and "Lower Gear manually". Then, to actuate the gear, you must tap those keys many times in succession. (approx. fifty time I think)

Dont panic, everything is working fine, the f4f series and I-16 series all have hand cranked landing gear, just assign a key for up and down, i use q and o. Welcome to the forums..

Several functions will need to be defined in the Controls section. Believe it or not, the tail hook and the wheel chocks do not have a default command! You'll also want to define keys for opening the canopies and raising the seat (on some carrier planes only), toggle wing fold, and toggle rearview mirrors. The level bomber bombsights and P-51D-20 gyroscopic gunsight need commands to be activated and adjusted.

Many thanks. That was exact the problem. There are maybe other things are not explained in the program? Perhaps this will take a great time to learn? My friend who give me the program did not know this. He explain other things, but had not known this.

Oh yeah there is a LOT to learn, and a lot that's not in the manuals too. Check out the Knowledge_Base at M4T (http://mission4today.com) and Airwarfare's Community Created Manual (http://www.airwarfare.com/mediawiki-1.4.5/index.php?title=Main_Page)

The information about the F4F manual landing gear is mentioned in the Aircraft Guide but not in the Manual.

It's amusing to see questions regarding seemingly non-functional landing gears pop up here from time to time.
