Lucky you! I and others have been trying to watch that dratted video for two days and it keeps locking up on us!

Was able to see the video for the second Iwo Jima film by Eastwood, LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA. They will likely be masterpieces.

Thanks for the link... I knew this had to be coming soon. I do have one question... did the assault waves have LCVPs in them? I thought they were in LVTs with drop tailgates.

That statement is right in context, however Peleliu occured before Iwo Jima and Okinawa...if that's the point your trying to get at. Read "Brotherhood of Heroes", it's a great book about the Marines at Peleliu.

Jblon, umm, not sure what you mean. I am quite aware of when Peleliu was, and am quite familiar with "Brotherhood of Heroes". Bill Sloan did a fine job with it and drew heavily from my dad's book for source material.

I was just asking about the presence of LCVPs in the assault waves at Iwo. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I read about your father in Paul Fussell's WARTIME, and intend to read his book. A classic work. Illustrious lineage! Regards
