I have just tried changing my water setting in the conf.ini and they don`t seem to make much difference to the way the water looks in game.

Could someone post a picture of what water 2,3 and 4 should look like (I have a geforce 7600 gs by the way)

I`m not sure what the problem is the conf.ini or graphic card setting or driver.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Water 3 with a 7800GTX.
I tried water 4 but did not seem any better.
Here is a shot over a small lake just after take off.
Hope this helps.
P.S.
If you are useing OpenGL you need to have the line in the conf.ini that reads (HardwareShaders=0) changed to (HardwareShaders=1) to get Perfect mode which make your water look more real like below in screen shot.

Airwarfare, look at the bottom of the page:

http://www.airwarfare.com/tech/graphicsil2.htm

I'm pretty sure this is water=3. I can't personally see much difference between Water=3 and Water=4.

I don't know which forum members did these, otherwise I'd give them credit. Don't know what settings, but looks like Water=3 to me.

Note: the water only looks really rough when there is Blind weather or a thunderstorm (I think).

I have a 6800GT and the difference for me appears to be slightly more detailed water in 4 and a little softer in 3. There is a definate frame increase in 3 for me so that's where mine will stay...

I also think the water looks better in 4.071m. It looked a little more pixelated pre-patch...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I think you have to use 'Open GL', and have the landscape set to perfect for it to show.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
