I lost my IL2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles Game due to having to do a complete system recovery of my pc. I got it from the ubisoft digital download store, and with an email that stated I could download it as many times as I liked.Well that part seems to be true, but what I was not told that I would not be able to activate it with the activation code. This is a bad thing because I liked the game and have had many of fun days and nites fight ith and against great pilots. I am unable to purchase the game again, for finance does not allow it for me and I didn't appreciate the way the bussiness end of it was handled when I was told one thing and it does not matter cuz I can't activate it anymore. So as we all know all good things eventually come to an end,so I bid any of you that I have fought with and against in IL2 f/b cheers, and a lot of thanks for a great time. if any of you have Microsofts FSX I do host flights on it, so if ya ever see a Maxdogit session in there join in and say high and lets fly. Goodbye fellow Dogfighters. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

You wont be gone long, Sure your situation sucks and I feel for ya. But IL2 1946 is less than 20$ now online and the itch will persist until you finally cant resist and have to scratch it! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I would just contact support and see if they will reissue a new code for you.

Seriously, if this is legit.. He should not have to pay 20 dollars or a cent for it, as he owns a legitimate copy. It is the principal of things. That is the one thing that makes me leary of online downloads.

iTunes has some issues, I hear if you loose your original downloaded mp3's from them, it is very hard to get them back. On the plus side I have had no problem with Steam products or rFactor, where I have had to email the license holder 3 times for reinstalling the software.

When I d/l'd my copy of PE-2 through Boonty I printed the pages as my proof since paper don't crash.
Seriously though UBI Store should have records of who and where bought what, ie sales transactions.

I recall reading about such things in the past here.........However.....

Those that contacted Ubi technical service received new codes to activate the product. He needs to contact Ubi first before just giving up the ghost.

Also, to those that say he shouldn't have to pay again by those suggesting 1946, don't be so quick to become militant about "shouldn't have to pay"!!.....He's talking about Forgotten Battles...Ya'know, version 1.0....The suggestions above simply that he upgrade to a much more vast product for virtually no money.

Don't see an issue, perhaps I need a chart or graph.

It is ligit, but I did not have a printer to print the email ,and it was lost during the crash of my pc. I called ubisfts phone # they had up and talked to one of the guys named Chris, he said send him my original activation code which I did and then got an email back saying they could not replace it, that I had to try to go to another website and have it done. really does not matter since I can go and fly the real birds, but the fact that I agreed to the license agreement only to get shafted in the end. You're not seriously saying that, while keeping a restored P40, you can't afford a new copy of '46? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif Like Havok said, it's hardly a week soda at the price he linked.

So you called on voice phone and then sent your activation # and got an email directing you to a website and...
awww shucks it's better to waste time complaining?

And this for Forgotten Battles, out in 2003 IIRC?

So how much is a kilo of AVGAS where you are?
