Hi everyone,

I've been in contact with Sharx, and I'm sorry to say that the site is in danger of being cut off. Sharx is currently between jobs, and doesn't have the funds to pay for the site this month. The il2skins account is short $120 canadian. If the money isn't paid, the server might be cut off, and everything on it lost. That would suck. Lots.

$120 isn't much though for the community to pay collectively, so if you've ever thought about donating to the running costs of a site that has kept the game alive, now's the time to do it. And if you have donated in the past, a big thanks, but another donation would be appreciated.

Donating is simple, just click the PayPal link on the main page of the site. It doesn't have to be a huge donation, every little helps. And if there's more than $120 donated, it will be used to pay for next months running costs. So, once again, dig deep and help il2skins.com

Thanks,

CanonUK

It would also be useful in the future if he could set up his site for alternitives to Paypal. I was a grateful conrtibuter in the past but every since building this new rig 3+ months back none of my past Paypal sites work and after trying to re-rigister it even told me I was attempting to use someone else's paypal numbers....hehe my own.

I would gladly use my secure credit as I do on some other sites if this were a choice at IL-2 skins. Unless I'm missing something its paypal or nothing.

I'm in for $13CAD. Hate to see that site in danger - I visit it several time per day.

Bumpity Bump. And there's next month to. I think we, as a community, should come together and support our own habit. This m8 has been recieving donations here and there, but I am sure he has had to go into his own wallet to keep this site afloat for us on a monthly basis. Just a few $$$ from allot of us would pay for the site monthly, and he is still willing to manage it. His time is valuable to us. Maybe, at a certain time of every month, someone can start another thread reminding everyone that it's time to make a donation to pay for the upcoming month. Like I said, $3 from only 30 of us would cover the charges. And that isn't much. And if you can give more, great. IL2 Skins to is valuable to us as a communtiy and it should never even be in jepordy of having to shut down. Lets pull together and come up with a plan so this doesn't happen no more.

I would like to help, but I don't even know how to use or create skins yet, but am very interested in doing so.

I think if you had 25-50 users to contribute one annual lump sum or small monthly amounts, it would be nothing out of the pocket and everyone would still benefit.

Just let me know who to send it to.

Hallo MO-JOJO.

The IL2-skins site is a free site where one can download skins for all planes in the game for free (!). Skins are provided by people who like to make them, some of the skinners are very talented. I have tried my hand at skin making myself, but so far it has been far easier to download skins from this very nice site.

Address: http://www.il2skins.com/

Take a look around. If you would like to start making skins yourself, there are guides and one of the nicest and most friendly forums on the whole internet.

Donations can be done via a Pay-Pal link at the bottom of the opening screen.

I'd gladly send him some money but I do not like Pay Pal. Preferred payment option would be Visa or MC. I would be happy to send him a bank payment if someone could give me a name, address and preferred currency.

Hopefully this is a good sign that many people are donating. . . but I just went to make my donation and this is all I got:

Website is currently under maintenance or receiving too many requests

Please refresh this page in a few moments to continue your visit

Thank for your understanding

Things are back to normal, oh and to blairgowrie there is a "Secure Checkout option" that doesn't require a paypal account. . .

Yes, thx TX-EcoDragon. I made a donation earlier today after I finally figured it all out.

They still ask for a shipping address, my home address, phone number and e-mail. Seems like overkill but if it helps IL2 Skins survive, so be it.
