I only play this game about 10% as much as I did in '03 and '04, which was about my peak. I played so much then that my right joystick arm was suffering from 'repetitive stress syndrome' and I was getting concerned about it. I'd suddenly get horrifically painful cramp-like symptoms and could not move my arm backwards enough to even scratch my lower back area!! Fortunately, this was not a permanent condition and by '05 I was fully recovered.

Played very little in '05 and '06, had a resurgence in '07 but this year not so much.

Does this mean I'm really ready for ROF and SOW?? I think so!!! I'm still amazed at the faithful that still play this game everyday though! It has been a great ride over the years.....sigh..... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That poll is about as interesting as someone on the other side of the world dropping a napkin. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

I admit that I love simming but too much of one thing becomes boring so I have varied tastes, PES 2009, RA3, CoD4, GRID and when I get my new vid card; GTA IV which unfortunately doesnt run with my current setup http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

It has only been work that has kept me from flying as much..

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif Sorry. That made me laugh.

I don't fly with a squadron anymore, but I do find some time for offline practice. I am just not in a position to dedicate as much time as needed to a squadron.

I have seen a lot of worse polls anyway. I only added it as an afterthought. A poll is to help find info on something. If you want excitement go find a girlfriend or something. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I play about as much as ever, which is quite a bit. Only when I get another game do I stop playing Il-2 for a while, then I beat the other game and come back to Il-2.

Yep, same. Whenever I get a new FMB idea I'll hop back in and put something together, but otherwise it's only a quick mission here and there. Sometimes I have to force myself to open up Il-2 (Generally to work on something), but afterwards I do have fun.
Having to get used to my squeaky X52 stick again is definitely not helping either.
Also, recently I've started hanging with friends more. Generally I don't get out a lot (Being homeschooled... my computer and I are quite close http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif), so anytime I can see them is a nice change.

Been playing SH3 a lot lately (GWX 3.0 is close!), as well as some 360. Plus it's Christmas, so who knows what else will distract me, eh?

I've been spending a lot more time doing profile art. So far, only P-51s and B-17s. One of the main reasons for doing this is that I've gotten very frustrated with the limitations of the IL2 models and skin mappings, especially for the B-17. If it weren't for the mods and flyable B-17s, B-24s and B-29s, I probably would only 'play' to check skins that I've made.

It's been quite sometime since I posted here. I'm smack dab in the middle of working Textures and so for a MOD team I'm on for FreeSpace2. I did this after several years doing this sim and just got plain bored and wanted a change of pace for awhile.
Will I come back? Surely when Oleg and gang release their SOW BOB.
Like Jarink, I too was doing profiles and will continue to do so. But not right now for the above reasons. FreeSpace2 was my first love in flight sims and sometimes ya just gotta go back for some old time fun http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

When I first started playing it was 2-4 hours every day, now it's about 8 hours a week. Still love to play, though.

I find I hop back every few years and play it for a few weeks.

The AAA mod and some of the graphics mods (plus downloadable planes!) sure breathed some life into it.

Over the months or years, I've been trying other games, but no matter what, I still come back to IL2 from time to time

My peak was in 2006 when I joined a SQUAD, I still fly with them but very sheldom, most of my flying time is SOLO in SoV

hmm,

this last year has been a rough one. I spent the summer away from my gaming machine for work. Now that I am resetteled in Seattle I have my gaming rig again, but a ver uncomfortable desk, and desk chair. Still I am managing to get on.

Playing Il2 and Wings Over Vietnam, Europe and Israel series from TK.
Waiting for ROF, Jet Thunder and obviously SOW.
But I only will start to drop Il2 after SOW.
The Il2 CD box will remain in my desk,as an anscient treasure.
I can only remember to love this much a sim when I think in the old Dinamix/Sierra Aces Over Pacific/Europe games.
That ones and the original Red Baron were my first loves...

Had a long break from IL-2, then went online for a brief stint just recently. First couple of nights were fun, but I soon grew bored of the same ol' same ol' and promptly uninstalled the game again. I mean IL-2 sure is an awesome combat sim for its age, but I still feel it's time to finally move on...

As regards simming / gaming I'm skippering SH4 fleet boats ATM, and will soon hop into a Black Shark too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I have discovered mods and am playing more than ever. I have always wanted to fly the R2 and Blenheim, and now have written all sorts of recon and night bombing missions.

The R2 is an odd aircraft from the outside, but is an awesome ride.

Having a blast.

Not sure which to pick, I have several favourite games, each of which I will play continuously until I am in need of a change of scenery then move to the next one and keep doing that, normally I play each for around 1-3months. Currently rotating IL2/SH3/M2TW/MOH Airborne/Company of Heroes/HOI2Doomsday http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/typing.gif

I have played IL2 off and on for a long time. After a long break, from before 1946 came out, I am really wanting a good ww2 flight sim so I just went out and got 1946.

Since nothing better has come along in all these years it is 1946 for me. I'll start slow and work my way in, get all my gear set up again (x52/trackIR/VAC,etc...) It'll be fun. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hope it all works without too much hassle!

used to play Il2 regiliously. warcraft came along and really put it to rest. i now fly the occasional offline mission. bottom line, i can never bring myself to uninstall the game even though I might fly at most once a week.
