View Full Version : How to add skins

Learning Il-2 and I am attempting to add skins.
I've installed skins using the following path: Il-2 Sturmovik 1946/Paint Schemes/Skins/(specific aircraft). The skins appear in the game, but the aircraft's underlying (default?) skin is visable "beneath" the surface.
Is there a way to correct this?
Also, what is the "void.bmp" designed to do?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

When you say the underlying skin is still visible, do you mean the country markings?

If you choose a skin that already has a a country's marking on it, the default country marking will still be present as long as that country is selected. You need to either choose "none" for nationality in that case.

As for the void skins, I have no idea. I'm curious myself.

What do you mean by visible underneath the surface? Can you get a screenshot? Where did you get the skins you are trying to use? The Void skin is there for skin makers to have all the panel lines and rivets and be able to add their own colors etc.

Alas, it was just the markings. By choosing "none", it worked.

Thanks again.

I gotta say that after all these years.. it is still refreshing to hear some of these noob questions no dig intended, because we were all noobs once. It just seems so long ago that it is easy to forget... It is great to know that after all this time there is still new blood coming to this sim....
