Just gotta vent for a min.

I was online in a P63 up against a P-80. Spent about 5 minutes with him, staying with him, just chewing him up a little bit at a time. Finally I get him in a spin and administer the cannon o' death and he heads into the ocean in pieces. Well, along comes an ace of aces named "Fly_Flap". This knight of the air pops a few rounds in the falling carcass and steals the kill. Ordinarily you sigh and go on. But this sleezoid steal really yanked my crank.

I see too much of this going on now. And really, it needs to stop. This is how Red Baron 3D finally went down: a lack of good sportsmanship online. Hate to see this beautiful sim have the same fate.

No need to respond. Certainly no need to flame. I just needed to vent to ears that might understand the frustration.

I know, I'm sorry but all I can do is laugh.
We all know about kill stealers.. we see it day in, day out.
Just be secure in the knoledge that you realy got the kill, and move on.. its all you can do.

I hear ya...usually best to just be satisfied that YOU know that YOU did the work, and got the kill....let the bottom feeders have your crumbs

In the case of those that shoot flamingg debris, though, I usually have no problem with teamkilling them, and taking the negative points....points are, after all what these arsehawles are after, but really mean nothing

maybe if FB had a kill/loss ratio counter instead of points, this wouldnt happen as much

Sorry about the kill stealer by the way,but Dire Straits are more memorable.

I like to do it in Offline campaigns....its like a little bapyback to the AI who always tries to shoot through me and steal my kills.

Doing it online for points is sleezy. Its the same as people cheating....what satisfaction do you get out of that?

like Drew Carey says:

'The points dont matter' http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

But it does piss ya off eh

Kill stealing has got to be the very worst aspect of online gaming in IL2 IMO.

These A.Wypes are just about points, so if the scoring system could be addressed it wouldn't be a problem.
I don't care that much for points (no really), but when the message comes on the screen that 'so and so' has got the kill when it was me who did all the work, well that grates on the nerves a little.
The stealer will be happy for the points and happy that all online pilots will see the message that he got the kill.
With each coming patch I have hoped that this will be fixed. That the kill will be awarded to the pilot who did all the work (most of the damage I guess) and not the puke who just clipped the flaming, spinning, crippled aircraft with a few shots.

No comment on the kill stealing, but he must have been a lame pilot in the P-80 if you stayed with him in a P-63?

I had the alt advantage and used it to B & Z him.

Re; points, who cares. It's meaningless. I do however, want the satisfaction seeing "Enemy Aircraft Destroyed". It floats my boat http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Kill Stealing happened Yesterday

Kill Stealing happened Today

Kill Stealing will happen Tomorrow

the point is ? . . . . .

what brings a DF server down isnt the lame actions , but all the accusing & argueing that goes on thru the chat

if your at the point where your angry , . . . . your time is being wasted by sitting in front of your computer

How did he spin a p80?

dont think ive managed to do that, though i rarely drop below 500 kph in a jet, except landings and takeoffs obviously...

I don't know, I am quite happy when I make a plane run smoking or fall dramatically spinning without one of its ailerons, and I don't mind if some fellow nails him.

Feels like teamplay to me, as I have already set my eyes on next target (or I have been jumped by someone else).

The finishing shot has never been a fixation of mine.

While I'm sure you are ticked off by kill stealers, what ticks me off more is that people care so much about a stupid score. Kill for the thrill of the hunt, not bragging rights fueled by scores. You know you made the kill. If it helps vent your frustration, open up a blog online and put the address to it in your sig for everyone to see. When you go out on an online sortie, document it in your blog, including all of your kills, shared kills, and damaged enemy aircraft. Include tracks if you wish. Then you do not have to rely on scores in-game to gain satisfaction from your online accomplishments.
