Hi and welcome to PF http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

First thing you need to do is update your game to the current version.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Patches:
pf_v303.exe(100mb)--installs over version 3.0 "out of the box" http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/updates.php

pf_v303 to v304.exe(19.3mb)--installs over version 303 http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/updates.php

*All the links are on one page--simply look for the right files. Make sure you d/l the proper version--anything with an "m" after it is for the "Merged" version only, and will NOT work with the stand-alone. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

The you need to DL hyperlobby

http://hyperfighter.sk/

When you have done this, launch HL and go to the PF lobby. It should then ask for the executable location for your game (pf.exe I think). You only have to do this the once, on subsequent returns to HL there's no need.

Simply click on a server, listed on the left and it will give you the server information. Click JOIN and it'll load the PF game automatically (i.e. don't have PF running first).

MAKE SURE you read the server rules before launching. The worst thing to have is someone who jumps straigth in, not having read the rules and saying "Hey where's the enemy at". It's annoying and people can't always respond (especially when they're in a hairball http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

Good luck and check 6. Any probs just come back here and ask http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi, thanks a lot for you help. I've followed your instructions and dowloaded the two updates and hyperlobby. Problem is when I try to join I get a message at Hyperlobby which says ' wqrong hyperlobby can't find installation folder for your pacific fighters game' -where have I gone wrong? Can anyone help?

There's a list of games supported at the upper right of the Hyperlobby window. Be sure to choose Pacific Fighters from the list before you log in. The rest should be easy.

You may have already seen this, but if not it may help:

Hyperlobby's Online Manual is at the following link:
http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=1#7

QUOTE FROM HL MANUAL:

"7. LOCATING THE GAME INSTALATION FOLDER

When you try to connect to a game room, HL may pop up the game-location dialog. This happens when HL is not properly set up or cant automatically detect the game location. This dialog can be forced by pressing CTRL+SHIFT and left-clicking on the CONNECT button. There are two ways to enter the correct game-installation folder:
1. Type the game path into the text box with the name of the game executable, for example "C:my gamegameapp.exe", then press the Save button.
2. Left-click the Search button and wait until HL finds your game folder. Then double-click on the correct item and select save.
If you think that both of these methods have failed, right-click your game icon, select properties, and copy and paste the game path into the textbox and left-click the Save button. (If nothing works, try reading this manual from the beginning.)"

One thing nobody's mentioned in this thread: You've got PF. If you don't have it already, I'd also get the "IL2 Forgotten Battles GOLD PACK", which includes the "Ace Expansion Pack". Once that's installed, install PF to it as a "merged install". (There are plenty of threads out there, if needed, on how to intall and patch up to the latest merged version.)

The FB/AEP Gold Pack should be fairly cheap, if you can find it. (In US, I've seen it in Best Buy, CompUSA, and even WalMart - probably also available online, but I haven't looked.)

The merged install is by far the most common setup used in HL, and adds a ton of aircraft and more maps (Eastern front, some western front, and desert maps, along with more aircraft: US, British, USSR, German, etc. -- too many to list here).

The merged version and straight-PF versions aren't compatible online, and it's pretty hard to find PF-only servers.

Hoped that this helps,

Be aware that there are 2 Pf lobbies. One for the merged install.(FB+AEP+PF)And one for the standalone.Make sure you are in the correct lobby.
