Can anyone confirm if the current US release is DVD only?

I was all set to run out today to purchase but the minimum spec info clearly says DVD only.

Can imagine why they would not release on CD.

Yes, it's DVD only. It's not on CD because, well, the game won't fit on a single CD. If you don't have a DVD drive then you can usually pick one up for around 20 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

What do you mean you can't imagine why it's not on CD? Would you rather have ONE disc or several? I've been waiting for over 2 years now for more game publishers to start releasing on DVD. It's absurd to have to run through more than one disc if we have DVD options. Neverwinter Nights comes to mind...too many discs when 1 or 2 DVDs could've covered it. Battlfield 2 is available on both but DVD would be the clear choice. Sorry if you can afford $50 games but not $30 for a dvd-rom drive.

Well...thanks for answering my question...I guess :/

And in response to the "Why wouldnt it be!!!" crowd..oh I dont know....maybe because THATS THE #1 FORMAT FOR PC GAMING....sheesh. I dont care if its one disk or 50...going out and buying more hardware just to play ONE game is just plain silly.

Hey man, wasn't really trying to bust your balls but how long has it been the console standard? Console has the edge on PC games in that aspect. Call me lazy but holy ****, it's just plain stupid to HAVE to use a storage medium such as CD that's ancient and practically obsolete by technology standards. How many pc's have shipped with DVD drives in the past couple years as standard equipment?

DVDs readers cost 10-20 bucks used if you pick them up at a Computer Store (a real one, not BestBuy). Also it's pretty much standard equipment to at least have the reader on any PC coming out of any of the manufacturers these days (or a $10 upgrade option).

But alas, it's plain silly to buy a DVD reader for your computer as technology stopped evolving in 2001. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif NOT!
