Ive always flown the i153 and nothing much has changed with it post-patch.... except for the fact that it is now as durable as the Jug, surely it wasn't this strong in RL (just a guess, i cant back that statement up) i find that this is an exceptional aircraft and would like to find detailed info on it ( preferabley with nice hi-res pics http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ), does anyone have any good links?

and one last thing... were rockets really used with time-delay fuses for flak-style AA use in aerial combat? the effectiveness of this tactic in FB has totally suprised me.

these tactics in FB don't totally surprise me - but they do totally P*ss me off - especially if i am forced into a unlimited ammo server due to player numbers or server pings.

sorry but i hate people who use these rockets again and again- even though half the time they are very innaccurate.

i guess they were used like this in RL - but only as they are given too planes on bomber intercept missions in FB - it doesn't prove it's right but i'd be surprised if Oleg and crew had made a mistake like that.
i would be interested to know if they were used against enemy fighters though- if they were i guess i would be more forgiving about there use in DF servers

Yes. On occasion, rockets bursting in a formation could destroy 2 or 3 planes all at once - the impact was supposed to be similar to the FlAK 88. I can never get the timing right though - I just use them to attack bombers at longer range (500-600m or so).

Don't really know much about the I153 except what it says in view objects. It makes a pretty sweet little attack plane in 1941 though - like a sort of swing-role fighter, but without enough speed. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Well, don't know much about I-153, but its precursor, the I-15, was widely used in Spanish Civil War, and got an outstanding reputation for its endurance and sturdiness. It could fly even with lower wings ripped off! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif
