How are you supposed to attack anything at night? I can't see a **** thing... is there some method I'm missing, other than shooting star shells everywhere?

It seems like "night attacks" are referenced everywhere in the manual. Like, "trail a convoy until night then perform a surface attack". Well, I did exactly that, and couldn't see a **** thing when trying to engage them. If I jack my monitor brightness up to the maximum, I can then see faint shapes.

Is this what I'm supposed to do? Are you supposed to shoot starshells into the air when attacking a convoy at night? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of attacking a convoy at night?

don't ships in a convoy usually have some lights on that you can see? I can't imagine the convoy running completely in the dark. Maybe you can see cabin lights or something

Those ships are trying to hide from you. Why would they turn on any lights to give their location away???

Try to adjust brightness/contrast of your monitor/vid card.

Night attacks work fine for me, although you REALLY have to watch out for ships carefully. Dimming the lights in your room while playing also helps. And yes, ships in a convoy would DEFINATELY NOT have any lights on except a very small nav light in very bad weather.

hehehehe http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif yeah in very bad weather they apparently didnt have to worry about attacks from submarines, but I aint standing by that because im not really sure what im talking about!

U imagine how far you can see that light in the ocean... god****, youd be a sittin duck, for anything from planes to subs to other ships! madness I say! MADNESS!

ever thought about using the deck guns SS shells (star shells) fire em straight up they light up the world.

as for underwater attacks, put yourself in a postition where the moon is behind the target, it makes the enemy ship highlighted on the horizon.
