You picked two of my favorite cockpits already but I really love the Hurricane cockpit, the TB-3 (looks like a flying convertible), and the bubble canopy on the P-47D. Great screenies!

I STILL love my 109!

i've always thought 262 was a particulary well modelled cockpit /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

also he111 great cockpit for "immersion" -(don't ask me why)
I also like the little navigators room in the tb3 - has a great "mobile home" feel to it - Nice to sit in there and see the home base runway come up out of one of the windows and think "yay!! we're back home !!" /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

There's a bug in that TB-3 navigator table. Maps weren't colored, they were b/w./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Kimura: what do you think the bored navigator did on the way to the mission: See that little box of crayons?! (heh hehe hehehe) they colored it in for fun.

I remember the first time I sat in the cockpit of a 109 and other German planes, I`ve always been struck by the neatness of the design compared to Russian planes. The joystick always looks particularly comfortable.

I`ll always fly Russian/Allies, but Jerry cockpits always feel `superior` in craftmanship!
(I guess it`s a measure of how accurate Olegg`s sim is).

The only additional item I can see is a pencil. I'm curious to see that navigator who's able to color the map in green with apencil./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

We're talking about that map laying at the navigator table - it's colored. But maps in WWII weren't colored, they were rpinted in black/white./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
