1) SaQson's team (as I understand it) are working on Russia/China/Japan 1930's. [http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif] I may be wrong http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

2) We really do need Burma - if only for some decent Commonwealth and Flying Tigers action. Really annoying that we were half-promised it and now it isn't even nearly in the offing. I reckon we'll never get it but we'll see.

3) I'm NOT promising anything on the Germany map. [http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif]

I can't say I like the tone of the original poster, but I do agree we could use a few more maps.

Dutch New Guinea and the Slot, for starters. The Phillipines and Burma additionally.

Honestly though, the maps do justice for the *intent* of PF, which is a carrier based pacific sim. But for those of us adding onto FB/AEP, it'd be really swell to have these additional maps.

CBI would make the most milage, IMO. Navies have open sea and islands for CV use. the USAAF, IJAAF, RAF/Commonwealth, and CAF could all use the CBI. On top of that, pick the right area (top map concept, below) and the front is even fairly static in the sense it remains inside what would be 1 PF map.

Rangoon (which I didn't bother to draw) is the worst possible choice because it is occupied by the IJA so quickly. The next 2 north I drew have Mandalay, works for AVG, and some later action out of the chinese parts NE. The top two are the best choices, I think. Some CBI wonk might have better ideas.

Rangoon was captured quickly, but not without a heckuva lot of action between Allied forces and Japanese flying out of Moulmein. I can't see why you'd exclude that area.

Well, given the limited map size in PF, and all the effort to create it I think they'd do better to concentarte on areas that saw combat for the longest period of time. Particularly since there aren't many places in PF right now where both sides can take off and land within a single map without a CV.

If you could only have ONE CBI map for a while (if at all) I'd say make it the map that has airfields for both sides that were active over the longest time period so the army air units on all sides (including the Chinese) can have someplace to fly. Navy units can fly on any map with a coast, just park a CVBG nearby.

I would choose better maps over more maps any day of the week;-)
