View Full Version : What kind of work would be required to make a Fw190D12 in the pay addon?

Hello Oleg and everyone,

I was wondering if it was a possibility to find the Fw190D-12 in the pay add on. I would think (but I don't really know) that it wouldn't take so much work to make it's external model from the D-9 version. The same would go for the cockpit, which must be identical or am I wrong? The Fm fixes would probably only be to increase speed to 729 kph, and increase climb rate accordingly. a little extra weight and frontal armour, and we'd be set.

I don't know how much work it would require, but I think it'd be quite fast to extrapolate from the D-9 (which became very good (and realistic IMO with the successive patches). Of course, I woudln't mind the Ta 152 C, the D-11 and the D-13 to go with it. After all it's going to be Christmas soon /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

PS: and I wouldn't mind very late spits and a P47M to shoot at /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The D-12 and D-13 is basically the same aircraft, the only difference AFAIK is the engine mounted armament. And I'm all for implementing these birds into FB!/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

It'd take work, work that should be put towards giving the Dora-9 a real damage model. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Look at it this way: if they add the D11, 12 and 13, it'll be FOUR planes that will be lacking a DM. So it'll be 4 times more important to work on a DM for the D series /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

we are already getting the TA152, it would be nice to get both the H and C versions, then there would be no need for the D11-12-13..... asking for too much guys...

oleg, just make the H1 and C1 and we will be fine..

Hey this is not a poll for which plane you'd like to see in game if you see what I mean /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

It's just stating that I'd love more of the Dora family, especially if there's not much work at all required to put them in the game. Obviously there'd just be minor modifications required to externamls and FM.

Is it even plausable to "recycle" a mesh for altering to make a new a/c? That is the question one should ask first of all, since there are several planes I could think of off the top of my head that I would like to see that, in esence, are very similar to current models.

One example would be a P-47D-45, which is a D-27 with the dorsal fillet. Once this fillet was introduced in the D-45, it was retrofitted to all previous Jugs then in front-line service. Another, of course, would be the "early" P-51D-5 "without" the dorsal fillet, which was touted as "more compatable with current skins". But, IMHO, that statement is bollocks (but that's just me).

Once we get the answer to that question, let us then see what is possible.

Zactly... the question is how much work would be required to bring the D12 in the game from the D9.

No D-12, but D-11 and perhaps D-13

also be sure to have A D-model with EZ42 Revi.

If no additional a/c at all, at least model the Late war D-9 with gyroscopic Revi.

D11 is nice but I like the D12 better. I prefer nose mounted guns, easier to aim. Plus it saves weight compared to the 2 Mk108 of the D11, and also there's that nice extra engine armour.

I just would like to see our current Doras with the ability to carry 250 and 500KG SC bombs like the war time dora could. Since Jabo Doras or as I call then Jaboras were used in Operation Bodenplatte to bomb the allied airfields in Western Europe and during the closing days of the war and replaced the Stukas of Rudel's unit.

FW190D-12?

Count me in of course.

As far as what changes would have to be made, I guess:

- higher top speeds
- probably different supercharger alt. changes for the 213F
- that glorious engine mounted MK108 that makes me drool
- slightly different external model(cartridge ejection chutes, engine cannon, etc.)

I hope Oleg continues to support FB for some time because if he doesn't, we may never see planes like the D-12, Ta-152C etc.
