More than 430 victories, 260 ground kills... highest rank and 7 medals.
I have few more missions before war ends.
It seems that I will skip Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds to the Knight's Cross this time.

For those who won this prestigious award tell me what have you done to achieve this?

No idea. In reality this was a strictly political expansion of the Knight's Cross row - reserved for those who showed commitment to the system and its political beliefs. I have no idea what needs to be done to get it, but I'm a little wary of having it in at all.

Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds to the Knight's Cross

only one man ever got this award, and that was hans ulrich rudle, stuka-ace, and convinced nazi...you will never win this medal in game, because it simply isn't in this game.. grmans have only the 7 medals you have...

This link explains a lot... apparently as you guys indicated, it was created for specific purpose in this case the only recipient was Hans Ulrich Ruddel with his unmatched insane score.

Not quite. Rudel was the only one who ever got it but it was planned for the 12 most decorated and dedicated soldiers of the Wehrmacht. It was officially another (the highest) stage of the Knight's Cross, but in reality it was tied closely to political beliefs and loyality towards Hitler.

What I find truly impressive is that you fly with 'realistic' settings. May I ask how long have you been playing this game?

I fly the game from IL-2 demo days http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

I flew literally tons of various campaign missions on realistic settings in the past two years.
I started those two campaigns quite recently...
Prior to that I have finished 15-20 full campaigns with over 1,500 completed missions. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif
Unfortunatelly at some point my campaign crashed and I was unable to recover it. So I started whole story again.

Here is how it used to look like untill I crashed it.

BTW I've checked DE campaign folder and it contains picture of Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds to the Knight's Cross award.
I guess you can win that one only if you fly Stuka campaign http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif.

I may have to fly a Stuka campaign just to see. I didn't think it was in-game either. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

First one is uncensored version.
That is the 8th (highest) award for German campaigns in game.

is the file in the mission folder? what is it called?
if it is possible to win it, I have to do more stuka jobs...I only fly the G and D5 versions of it... the 7.7 mms are lousy for groundattack...

GOOD GOSH MAN!

I salute you and your flying skills. That's quite a feat there.

In my experience getting the first 5 medals is relatively easy in any campaign, it takes about 30-35 successfully completed missions. I could never go past 5 medals so far (maybe because I stick to short campaigns).

Maybe your thieving AI wingmen have stolen it? They normally nick everything else.

Hmmmm....perhaps the Kurland (Fw 190 Fighter)campaign is easier then. I tested and cheated by using "unlimited ammo" option and got the "Golden Oak leaves, Swords and Diamonds to the Knight's Cross" by:
Sorties 64
Victories 187
Gr.objects 144

Wanted to see if it was possible.

My list;

It appears that you have skipped Iron Crosses. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Yes, often they shoot at enemy aircraft even if those are on fire or had their entire tail shot off, spinning towards the ground.

Actually I may have been wrong since I recently got my 6th medal in the Slovakian campaign.

a good kill ratio as well

i had 270 odd missions up in a realistic german dynamic campaign a while back (with speedbar and HUD disabled as well) but my kill ratio was more like 1 per mission .. unfortunately a corrupt mission file killed that one .. i was intending to fly the entire war

well done

No, they didn´t.
They were awarded with the Diamonds (like 25 others too), but NOT with the Golden Oak Leaves. The only one, who got it was Rudel.
It is often said, that there were plans, that Hartmann should get his Golden Oak Leaves after the "Endsieg", which, as we all know, fortunately never happened.

not being sarcastic - but how many times were you shot down and 'killed' Kuna?

In German campaign I was shot down quite a few times around 10-20 (including ditches), killed - I suppose I was killed few times - all during ground attack missions. That is why I have changed FW-190 designation to pure fighter because in ground attack JABO missions player gets killed and shot down many times.

In Russian campaign I was killed I suppose more than 20 times. And shot down many times. No really I didn't count that one. But it is no wonder since player flies almost all war in underdog planes. I've received competitive planes in late 1944 and 1945 for the first time;

planelist;
Lvov41 I_16TYPE18
Barbarossa I_16TYPE18
Typhoon YAK_1
Crimea42 YAK_1
Kuban42 YAK_7A
Stalingrad YAK_7B
Stalingrad2 YAK_7B
Rzhev42 YAK_1B
Kuban43 YAK_1B
Kursk YAK_1B
Kubanlate43 YAK_1B
Crimea44 YAK_9D
Bagration YAK_9T
Lvov44 YAK_9T
Berlin YAK_9U

In fact it appears that Yak-1B is somewhat faster plane than Yak-9T considering some sources TBH I never checked it. 311 missions, 325 air kills & 51 GKills in that campaign.

Final tally for German campaign 198 missions, 487 AKills & 271 GKills.

Anyway so far we have no DE award winner here...
