Not a big fan of the whole 46 planes, but that doesn't mean I don't recognise a quality model.

very impressive indeed.

So, they really think they can get away from posting updates because Gibbage is doing it. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Looks great Gibbage. I look forward to seeing what six .50s in such a tight pattern will do!

I'm a bit irritated or confused on the exact type Algor. Its surely NOT a P-80A. The A-type had a light housed in the nose that became replaced first with the B-type by a dark nose cover housing a cam. Also that airing in the rear section of the fuselage appears first on C models or updated A/B-types to C-Standard. Maybe Gibbage could bring some light in it./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Kimura is right, there are many little diffences betweeen the prototypes, the P-80A, the F-80 B and C (for instance jet exhausts and intakes, canopies etc...).

This said, very pretty modeling and cool cockpit!

Nice model Gib. I really like the skin too. Not the ultra glossy light grey but it sure looks nice. Snorri was who did the skin correct?

Cheers.

Btw, the two P-80's tested in Italy had a light in the nose in place of the little radome.

Cheers,

Martyr, I remember Gib saying that Snorri was busy working in another sim and that he did the skin himself. And that he hates skinning. /i/smilies/16x16_robot-happy.gif

Its a P-80A. The light is in the nose if you look closer.

Other then the light, there are few visible differances between the A and B. What other changes are you guys saying to be an A?

Hi Gib

Just misinterpreted the nose development as the bigger B/C camera cover, maybe of the missing texturing you already mentioned.

One little thing I guess I found. And that's that airing marked in magenta. That airing appeared first on C-models or modified A/B to C-standard in later years, but not before production of the P-80C begun.

(I just uploaded YOUR pic and will delete in from my host as soon as you have seen that pic.)

Thanks Kimura. I will correct this. Do you happen to have a list of differances between the versions? That would help me a lot.

The later J and L series did not have the problem with cabit heating. It drew air that was passed along the exaust ports by the super charger, and then pumped it into the cabin from both engines. Its not exaust air, just air off of the hot exaust pipes.
