Speaking of blue/red, I have a new offline campaing deal going that's a lot of fun. With two seperate installs of PF on my PC, I am running the same campaign from both blue and red alternating missions. Right now I am using the DCG Tobruk campaign flying the MC.200 and the Tomahawk IIb. Good stuff. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Doesn't matter to me, USAAF, LW, Soviet, RAF, IJN, of course I fight just as hard, online of off.

I tend to gravitate to the plane not the "side" though. Online I prefer the P-38, Fw190A, Cobra and P-47.

Yeah, it is often rather an aircraft preference... Ju87, Il2 and 109 are my preferred mounts.

On a large server I will take the side with the least people.
Otherwise I like to fly Jabo with a group of people rather than boring old one on one dogfights.

Red mostly... on thise rare occasions when I fly blue I prefer a 109.

I agree about a/c selection - though if there is a 109 available thats where I'll be. Lately I've been creating and flying a bunch of He-162 offline missions and having a ball.

Depends. I usually join whichever team has the least amount of players, so lately I've been flying for the Blue side, mainly because everyone seems to like flying with the Red Air Force. (Communist Pigs! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif) So I guess you could say I'm a bit of a freelancer. I tend to fly planes that correspond to the team (I.e., Blue team, Axis planes only, Red team, Allied planes only), so I've had a lot of time to get acquainted with the Gustav. Oddly, I feel more confident in it than in the Warhawk or Jug.

I mainly fly axis fighters on & offline, I have no idea why. It is strange considering I am First generation Australian & both of my parents are from the North of England.

I would like to have chosen "blue always" but this is not the case. I am often forced to chose red for game balance. For this reason I have given up playing online.

"game balance", not very historical but then again, neither is "refly". http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

I fly several planes from all sides though I do have a preference for American planes. I guess I'm a speed junkie. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

Always red. Sometimes if the teams are unbalanced I go blue. But that is VERY rare.

I just don't like Axis planes. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I switch constantly between red and blue, depending on the campaign i'm playing.
When i first started playing Il2 i couldnt stomach the idea of flying for the blue- too much prejudice hanging over from my childhood reading war comics and memories passed down from my elders.
Now i've found that i get bored by just flying one sides planes- it really is a challenge to master the aircraft of one side and then reverse the situation.
This game has so much depth that it would be a shame to restrict your enjoyment of it too much.

Offline I'll fly either. Online, who ever is out numbered.

I really don't care. I understand that not all Luftwaffe pilots were murderous Nazis just as not all VVS pilots really cared all that much for Stalin, so there is no stigma associated with either side for me. If I'm online, I will go with the side lacking numbers. Offline, I go with whatever I feel like doing.

That said, I have probably logged more hours flying for Finland than any other country (which is odd since I'm not Finnish.) I don't even want to think about how many hours I have logged in B-239s over the Gulf of Finland because it would probably depress me. I'm sure that getting the D.XXI will cause me to do this again.

The US would be a distant second (P-38 and P-40 mostly) and the USSR (Il-2/I-16/MiG-3) and Germany (109E/Ju-88) would fight for third place.

I also have a lot of time in the Spitfire and Hurricane. I hope to get a lot of time in the Mossie, but I have yet to find a campaign.

I'm a pragamatist.
This is a game, and I use the best available weapon.

Same reason I use a Deagle 5.0 on CSS http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Red Mostly, but I switch a lot.

I like the Yaks, seem to have a fair punch combined with decent manoeuvring and speed, although I'm partial to the later Bf-109s.

I've clocked a lot of hours in MiG-3s, and far too many for my liking in Type 18 I-16s. Donkey all right.
