Just wondering if anyone can say if they have either done MP themselves or read the manual if Type Talking in MP alerts Escorts using HF/DF?

Ah, I was wondering what 'Huff duff' meant - now I see it's HF/DF, High Frequency Direction Finding...

No idea if multiplayer chat alerts destroyers, though it's a really good idea (until unscrupulous players use Teamspeak to get around it)

I use Teamspeak'but i'd be quite happy to type a full stop and press enter at the same time to let escorts know that i have transmitted a message.

I am sure this was modelled in SHII so seems reasonable to expect it in III.

if it is modelled, it would also be cool if in a patch they let u assign a specific key as your "transmit" key, then, go to teamspeak and assign that same key (for instance, * on numpad) as your push to talk key, and then the game would use that to know when u broadcast, even tho you're transmitting outside of game through teamspeak.

I've very much doubt it. I haven't tried MP yet but it would be to hard to program. Especially if you wanted it to understand what the people are saying.

Possible the only way you could do it was if each time someone types something and press' enter. Then the game would send out a ping to the sub your talking to. And the AI can pick up that ping.

Thats the only way I could see they could do it.

Thats why i'd be suprised if not in SH3.
