I will. For some reason I always found the Eastern Front more "interesting" (weird expression considering the tragic events), than PTO, ETO or MTO.

But I'll still buy'em and play'em /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I think I would stick to FB! But probably buy an ETO game too!

07-25-2003, 04:13 PM
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "stick up" (where I come from this generally refers either to armed robbery or unnatural acts) but I take your question to mean, "Who would continue playing FB if Oleg Maddox were to introduce a Pacific or European/Mediterranean based sim?"

Which is an interesting question and I'm surprised there were so few answers. Maybe the title confused others too.

I can tell you without having to think about it: whether or not I continue to use FB on a regular basis, it won't be affected by the introduction of any other Maddox products. Now, I wouldn't buy another sim from Maddox if it cost five bucks and came with a gift certificate for a hot night with Heidi Klum. OK, I'm lying, I would, but that's what it would take.

07-25-2003, 04:20 PM
I will. The Eastern Front is a unique battleground.

07-25-2003, 04:32 PM
I Love Il2/FB, but the as soon as a ETO, PTO, or Med theater is available I'm homeward bound.

07-25-2003, 04:44 PM
I never tried CFS2, japanese myself and never flown jap planes on computer. I would definately try PTO also.

07-25-2003, 04:44 PM
will check em out for sure -- FB is the best sim goin {IMO} miss flyn the mustang

07-25-2003, 04:45 PM
i think i would play both - unless the new one whips FB's posterior !!

You just can't get enough flight sims /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif so I'll have both and play both until they have been replaced by something so uber that we can't realize it yet. Just like CFS got pushed out of my machine. All though someones going to have to do one heck of a job to do that to IL2FB

Any new sim that has a halfway decent review etc. be bought.

07-25-2003, 05:55 PM
I'd be playing the MTO and/or PTO games. I have never played a game in either setting.

07-26-2003, 11:20 AM
Eeastern front all the way.. this is the only sim simulating eastern front.. it is unique..

I don't care where the theatre is as long as the standard is maintained.I've said it before,I want ETO,MTO,North Africa,BoB,Pacific, and even,as Oleg can do early jets very nicely,Korea. As long as it involves gunfights and not sterile AA missiles I WANT IT ALL!! And if you've got a choice of "Where shall I fight today?" ....GREAT!

WW2 E front has always fascinated me and is a firm favourite, so I'd never turn away from it.... but I'll still be wanting to play the others, when and if they arrive!

Best regards to all,

What I thought would be the way to go with this would be to contiue to "build" on what they have here. I see no reason that these additions cannot be a "part" of the sim they have right now.

I guess is the end it will come down to what makes the most money for UBI. Releasing FB as a stand alone seems to indicate a completely new sim "not" compatible with FB. That's a bit of a shame because I would like to see some of those other battlefields in this engine. Oh well.

Well this is the first flight sim that I've really gotton to play on a "Good System"
Pentium 4 1800
ATI RADEON 9700pro (it was the best when I bought it anyway)

This has alot going for it for me right now. Still drooling over some of the stuff I'm seeing. I'm not a history guru by any means, but the European Theatre would defiinatly interest me more "being a "YANK" and all./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Remember "BAA BAA BLACK SHEEP" I was a daily watcher of that show. Getting into a "Corsair" would be out of this world. I can imagine myself in a unit named the "Black Sheep". For FB though the German planes are great. Me-109 aimer here. Don't know if I'd call myself a Me-109 flyer yet. I just aim the damn thing and it goes. If I can just figure out what this button is for.........../i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Thanks everyone for their input on everything no other game has the same input as IL-2 gang. learned alot.

There is enough time in life to play both so I would. Being American i would love other theaters of operatrions. I would still fly FB alot though. Flying across the endless Russian Steppe is great.

I will fly FB for a while. I was not all that impressed with CFS2. Although it was a better sim than CFS1 the scenery was boring to me. The different scenery of FB is one of the things i like about it.

I want all the theatres of war but I would look forward to a good desert campain we Aussies had a big part in beating Rommel around el-Alamein(sp?)

I'm looking forward to a series of IL2 games and theatres that all work together in one huge 10 Gig flight sim.

I'll install a second hard drive just for IL2 and a Win op system and nothing else.

But most of all, I'm looking forward to shooting down Japanese aircraft in my Spitfire. For that alone I loved CFS2.

07-27-2003, 01:55 AM
Whatever /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif He will build it and you will come.

The imagination of this sims developer has been obvious from the outset.

There is an opportunity to build a sim which will please all, it just needs time. Watch this space because Microsoft are not going to give you all what you want and apparently there are no other competitors.

What if they all integrate?

I know Oleg is working on a new sim engine, but it may be that there is some way to integrate them all.

I will fly FB, and any other prop sim Oleg makes.

I would love to have a proplerly done China, Burma, India, theatre set of maps. P40s and RAF Brewsters defending Rangoon, The AVG in China, The Battle of Salween Gorge, .....bliss!!!!!

Back to the topic: I find the Russian front very facinating, mostly becourse it was the only frontline to strech over land for the entire war, all the others "theater of operations" were at some time seperated by water whilst the beaten ones regained strength, so I guess that all the other sims at some point give a lot of flying time and from what I've seen on the net noone want's to fly to far to fight.

But I'll buy them, like all the other sims I've bought/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Forgotton Battles is already a very versatile Sim, and we are having a lot of fun already re creating the Pacific, we are only waiting on the release of the Zero to complete the
Empire of the Sun Series of Online Multiplay Coop missions here.
For those who think Pacific War Scenarios involve long flying distances, think again and check out this Web Site,
