The watch crew spotted these odd tracks at 6:30 am this morning. Looks like a boat was launched

Is that a conning tower breaking the surface??

Unsure, we sent a seaman in to investigate. Shortly after entering the depths a decoy was released leaving all of us confused for a moment.

ENEMY SUBMARINE SPOTTED, SIR!!
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y190/ctbrosky1974/DiveTeamMember_02.jpg

Our brave seaman managed to attach a towline to the conning tower before succumbing to the elements. Another lowly seaman tried unsuccessfully to real the fish in himself.

Reinforcements arrive.

Honda made submarines...who would have thought??

Check out the water spewing out of the door handle and the bottles floating inside the passenger side window.

Checking the sub for valuable Intel

Now seriously, the car belongs to the guy inspecting the vehicle after recovery. He's a summer intern at my place of employment. Apparently he spent the night in his car in the parking lot because it wouldn't start yesterday afternoon. This morning he got it to start, let it run for a few minutes before turning off, then went into work. Only problem is, he left it in neutral with the e-brake off!! His car proceeded down the small hill (pictured) right into our heating/cooling pond where it floated to the other side and then sank bow first. If that's not bad enough, all of his personal belongings were in the trunk because he was in the process of moving. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif Oh man!! When it rains it pours.

This is by far the funniest thing I've ever seen happen at work. I honestly feel bad for the guy, but it really was comical.

Just thought I'd share...

LOL, that's what he told you! If it wasn't for your meddling, he'd be able to collect insurance on the "loss"! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

LOL...Just hope none of his insurance adjusters visit this forum.

He did tell me this afternoon that his insurance will cover the loss. Not sure how he worked that out.

We do have a company cat (Otis) that pisses on cars in the lot. Maybe the force of his flow was the proverbial "needle" that forced the car down the bank. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

As far as medals go, please explain to me what is commendable about letting your ride drift into and sink in a pond??

Going along with the SHIII theme, run into the wall leaving dock, and there are some medals waiting for you when you get back.

Really?? Do you really earn medals for crashing into the concrete while leaving port??

It's more about you getting medals no matter what you do. You could crash your sub right out of the pen, end your patrol right there, and you'll still get medals. What can I say, SH3 is pretty special!

"scratching chin"....really, I can crash my sub and get awards. Mr. Burns..."Excellent".

Back to the topic...is this not the funniest thing you've ever seen happen at work? I am fortunate and blessed to be employed by a company that hires "summer help" to provide this level of work comedy. *** on now! This is a classic Darwin Award.

fizilbert, the solar trackers generate power for our company. We are in the wind measurement business but really try to demonstrate the functionality of renewable energy in general. We have 12 solar trackers that follow the sun through the sky during daylight hours. The entire roof of our 40,000 sq/ft building is covered with PV panels and we also have a 10kw wind turbine on the hill behind our building. We generate 75-80% of our power right on site. It is pretty cool.

Very cool, glad to hear that there are atleast a few companies out there that are being responsible with their energy consumption. It would be nice to see some more like that. Seems like a nice place to work. Lookin' to hire new people? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Though if I have to go aorund all day lookin' at that guy with his shirt off, I think I'll pass. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That is absolutely hilarious. Lucky for him it didn't happen while he was inside asleep, otherwise we may have been reading about him on the Darwin Awards.

It is a nice place to work and the guy with his shirt off...he sometimes swims in the pond wearing only a Speedo. AHHHHHH!! He is one of the nicest people you could ever meet though. He retires in July and now we're wondering who will volunteer for salvage ops when he's gone.

I'm really glad the community thinks this is as funny as I thought it was. I know that I would be pissed if it were my car, but since it wasn't I couldn't help but chuckle all day long whenever I saw the tracks on the bank.

Well, if it was my car, I'd be pissed too, for a while. Eventually I would end up laughing at it too.
