I realize we can't have OT's all over the place, but I think the Cycling thread got shut down awfully quick.

The thread was not unlike some other community building threads such as "who we are" or "hey who's the oldest player". Just kind of getting to know each other more and share some common interests. Just wanted to say that.

At any rate, nice, nice ride CRASH. 62cm eh, you must be a tall drink of water. I'm exactly 6ft and I race a 55cm. Good luck to you guys that are racing this season.

Oh yeah, I fly everyting from Jugs to P38s to Wildcats these days.

11 OT topics on first page Astro.. a bit too much. Don`t you think? GD turned into pilots lounge - unfortunately. Still pushing for combining PF and GD with little success http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Rgr understand, Ivan.

I know u mods have to make judgements all the time to keep things going smooth. Appreciate the reply.

I do agree with the other chap, nice change from "my .50s are porked."

Yea, but my .50 used to buy a pack of gum, now they porked it.

If there were some other new information, about any of the pending releases {i.e. PF patch, BoB(yes, I read the other post) etc,..} then I'm sure the number of OT posts would be less.

Having said that I will also say that there are times when I look at the OT stuff even before I look for anything else depending on the status of the forums at the time.

Does that make any sense?

Whatever. I'll go back to sleep now.

Right now, all I'm reading here is OT stuff. I want BoB info, then I'll read some on topic threads.

I have heard HyperLobby called DiaperLobby and a person can be rather dull and still figure that one out.

AFIAK, the definitive character assasination of bike racers occurs in the King of The Hill episode in which Hank makes the flaky girl move into her own place. Of course she needs roomates and she ends up with a group of the most egocentric, immature, unbalanced lot you can imagine, including a bike racer just to make sure it can't be topped. At least as far as Mr. Judge knows.

The fellow who taught me to race explained all this to me when I was a noob. It helped immensely as I progressed. Dan was killed 10 year ago by an irresponsible driver while out for an easy ride across town. I miss him still.

"The thread was not unlike some other community building threads such as "who we are" or "hey who's the oldest player". Just kind of getting to know each other more and share some common interests. Just wanted to say that."

If, when I'm through with FB/PF, all it becomes is an unused program, it was a complete waste of time.

Well, although I have to admit to contributing heavily to the Patriots Super Bowl thread....

my feeling is, if it has to be labeled OT, it shouldn't be posted in the first place.

I don't care about anybody's religion, politics, babies, favorite pinups or anything like that. I might from a close acquaintance, but that's what email's for.

Keep it based on military, flying, history, flight sims, gear and games. All that is on topic, even though some people label it as OT.

Save the rest for another board, I say. Or put all the OT threads in an OT section, which is all too easy to simply ignore and never visit.

its a living board...so life topics are bound to appear...I think the mods do a great job here..this was just a numbers deal. Too many OT's at the same time I guess - but now look !

the ressurected bike thread has life again - back from the dead - and so close to Easter Front as Lexx calls it... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif

..and damm if it doesnt look foolish to rail on and on against OT threads...in an OT thread.

I swear, you are about as much fun as playing with asbestos. Do you even feel the stick jammed up your **** anymore? Or is it a welcome, comfortable feeling to you now?

You seriously need a life, Stig.
