The 25lbs of boost Spit.

Someone around here came up with a great nickname for it, but I won't repeat it here. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

The greatest spit was the one that helped defend our country in the summer of 1940.
The Mk.1

A Mk VIII clipped or Mk IX clipped are the best all-rounders. Given a choice I'd go for .50 cals over the .303s. The VIII has a bit of a wing stall that needs getting used to but once you're on it it's fine. Definately the best looking of the Spits we have.

The 25lb boosted Mk IX is the most powerful but the additional roll rate offered by the clipped wing Spit makes it more nimble and more pleasurable to fly. Until we get the Mk XIV 21 lb boost clipped wing in the next patch that is. For some reason they forgot to include it in 4.08.

The 25lbs Boost Spitfire is the best Spit in the game, as we have no MkXIV, but you really shouldnt be using the 25lber until 1945 so I have been told. I am not sure of the numbers used, or when it came into service.

If you want usual (as in most numerous) 1943/44 SPitfire performance, use the standard MkIX or MkVIII. They are very close in performance. The MkVIII has much longer range, but that doesnt really make a difference in the game.

I very much enjoy flying the LF VB. Exlent handling in low to medium speeds, at high speeds ailrons become a bit heavy.

Richardsen you are in demand on the Ukded2 server if you are a good Spitfire Vb pilot.

Try out the CHannel '42 map planeset is

FW190A4/109F4/He111/Stuka/Me110 vs Spitfire Vb/P40/Mosquito/B25/Hurricane IIb

Blue has Allied ships to destroy, Red has targets on the French coast.

Its a great test of Spitfire skill as red is usually overwhelmed by the fantastic FW190A4, which holds all the cards. It is also outclassed by the Me109F4, although its the Fw190A4 which is the real problem.

I am sure you will love the challenge.

I love flying blue on the map, but find red a real hard slog! COme and show us how its done!

(Congrats to JTD, I think you made the map, its a classic)

I dont mean tonight, I just mean sometime...http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Isnt that a reconassance Spitfire? I dont see any cannons. She looks really light and streamlined, and I bet she turns on a dime.

Perhaps he can just dazzle the Me109 with its sheer good looks http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

yep! It's a PR XIX.

I would much rather be in that spit without cannons than being in a 109 with Cannons.

A Spit 19 have a top speed 460mph and a 109k have a top speed abaut 445mph?

But the 19 have a much better powerloading, so you should easily outfly the 109.
