I???m planning to buy either a Dell 2407WFP or Samsung SyncMaster 244T (24??? LCD monitor).
The product specification from most seller indicates that it???s PVA monitor with 16ms G-to-G response time which concerns me.

Feedbacks from owner of these monitors is greatly appreciated.

I, for me, would go for the Dell. Why? Find the answer here - too long to tell here in a few words:

costco sells the viewsonic 22 inch widescreen LCD with High Def AND 5ms response for $299.00 american.

thats what i paid out in CA. the standard problem applies. i lost quite a bit of the view going to widescreen . i had a 21 inch monitor before and that was way better for view on IL2 and truly i see no real difference unless you play first person shooters.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I have the Dell 2405FPW 24" widescreen and have no complaints. Crystal clear and no ghosting of any kind on any game that I have played so far.
I'll never go back to CRT or non widescreen. The Dell monitors also have many inputs such as USB,S-video and card reader slots all built into the monitor. Had mine for over a year now without a problem. I say go for it.

A speck of dirt on your windscreen could turn into an enemy fighter in the time it took to look round and back again. A little smear on your goggles might hide the plane that was coming in to kill you.

i have the dell 2407wfp and it runs il2 great.i dont have the probs with the lost view others talk about.i see everything i need to see. i also have the 30in dell aswell and it runs great also. just make sure you have a graphics card that can support it.it also is great for some racing sims as well.

I've having the same thoughts myself but ruled out both these. The Dell has so many banding problems that you can read on various forums, including the Dell support forum and the Samsung has proven input lag. Im waiting until January first and picking up the new version of the BenQ 24". Its the best of the lot AFAIK.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

sultan_of_swing, how do you configure the wide screen to get rid of the distortion in Desktop Mode (when you're not playing game)? Thx

Right click on the desktop, select "properties", then select the "settings" tab, the move the slider to your monitors default resolution. Mine is 1920x1200.

Hope this helps.
