well i was chasing a convoy through the English channel in shutout fog , when all of the sudden it appeared from nowhere , noone saw it until the spotlight hit us , and the AA fire started bouncing off the boat. it was even to close to use its guns , i didnt think destroyers had a minimum range , and he missed me by a hair , but i never took damage. im glad its 1941 though , but hurry up radar!!! i think thats the first time i went defensive and stayed there. but U-99 made it through another one.

If he had gone to flank and started dropping minimum depth wabos, you might have been toast, or at least a little beat up.

Good escape Kalun

Oh, and just so you know, your radar works as a nice little homing beacon for all destroyers + planes for 1000 miles around (not literally).

So if you use radar, it is only somehwere in the Arctic or in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, where planes can't find you. Also, it

helps to find arctic convoys,. where the DD's can't go too far to search for you. Anywhere else near the enemy coast, and you'll get

promptly jumped.

You should have seen how a DD crashed into my boat right from behind. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

It was several months ago but i still remember it.

It was heavy fog and this DD just appeared with 25 knots exactly behind my boat , closed in and rammed my boat giving it a huge speed boost , pushed it underwater and runned over it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Everything happended so fast that i forgot to take a screenshots but believe me it looked rediculous. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

i had the same thing happen to me last week but the dd hit me abeam and push me on my side and under him ripping his bottom open as he pased over then sunk a few 100m away my conning tower was distroyed but that was the only damaged i recived, i still had a full load of torps left too had to go home and repair

it was kinda humorous , that destroyer had no idea what to do when he didnt hit me , he would go full ahead , then stop and back up some , i could tell he was wanting to drop some cans on me , but he would have cooked himself, which ive seen them do.

o btw can you really dock and get more fuel, torps, repairs? in unmodded SH3 all stock.

Yeah, but a month or two in time goes by so you have to decide if it's worth it or not. Unless I have really bad hull damage, I just finish the patrol, shoot all my tubes and shells and then return to base because either way the time goes by.
