I am now in early 1941, I am searching for convoys up the western approaches and still not finding them... them I do happen accross are either too far away for me to get there in time, or, a lone destroyer forces me to dive and hide.

Just wondering what gridsquares see the most convoy actions and if any of you U-boat aces have any advice for me.

I am finding ships but they are always loners, and the last loner I am accross fought back!! LOL a coastal merchant with a deck gun, I was lining up for a surface torpedo attack, it was rough weather granted...next thing I hears this almightly clonk!! And the boat shakes... the coastal merchant was shooting at me!! I still sank him, but oh the injustice!! Merchant ships have no right to defend themselves!!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Just south of Dublin and around that area, I recently encountered seven convoys and one large taskforce...all too far away lol. I ran into similar incidents when I encountered an early morning convoy that was simply to far to engage and surrounded by escorts. I had a pesky Blackswan that could somehow smell my scent but, luckily, never picked me up. I'd recommend to look at the grid map chart if you bought the game off the shelf, or go to your SH3 folder, under Documentation, and it'll be in there. It shows the major convoy routes throughout the war as well as air support. And just to tell you the truth, I don't encountered many convoys anymore, just lone ships but thats good enough for me.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Rockall Rise.

It is at the bottom of AM1. Out aways due east of northern Ireland. Convoys pass there every few days for pretty much the whole war.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

BF15 and AM52 are the squares with the highest convoy density throughout the war, though they become more and more dangerous places the more the war progresses. And either side of Gibraltar, of course. No other way in/out of the Med.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
