We just uploaded it on Ubi Soft ftp.
So today or tomorrow the link will be posted on the main page.

The version that you'll test will be RC01. So the users that already dwnlowded one of files (the small) one need to download it again.

Please tespond during 2 days only. We have really great limit in time to compile final version.


Don't report:

1) In final version the external model of Zero will be replaced by new model that will fix some issues of flaps size, spinner, etc. In cockpit of Ki-8 the one texture that is yellow-green will be replaced by right color. So don't report it as bugs.

2) US national markings on B-17 is done with the movement forward them on fuselase due to coding system that impossible to make by different way on both sides of fuselase. Don't report it as a bug.



Report to il2beta@1c.ru (with only one standard form like present in 1.1b and 1.11 readme in the past):


1. decreased durability of I-16 and FW-190 in a really visible conditions. Some other - too but not too much.

2. corrected bugs that was found for that time (it doesn't means that all)

3. We did more "rare" palms on the pacific online map for better FPS. So we would like to know your opinion about this decreasing is it enough?

4. Reduced the drag in "radiator open" program modules in a sim. It was wrong last time due to fact that we forgot to change it in 1.11 with the common changes of FM calculations. Sorry for that. Please remeber that the term radiator open used not only for the wisible radiator cowles, but for internal devices as well, that have also the drag increasing due to increasing the air flow across them inside the fuselase.

5. For these that fly Me-262 high, we corrected the chracteristic of the jet engine on altitudes higher than 7-8,000 meters. That was bug that we never recived to our il2beta@1c.ru address.

6. Bug in climb rate of Las also corrected.

7. Changed a bit textures of Pacific map.

8. Many more, that I will try to list in final readme.

9. There are two sound dlls, test both and select which one is better for you currently. About these DLLs do not write us. Speak in Oleg's Ready room please.
When our sound programmer will be back from vacation we will think what to do for these that hear loud on a great distance....
Probably we will organize serieos test with these guys and will try to get from them the right info, that we can't duplicate on any of our PCs and sound cards with right settings for them. Oleg Maddox will let you know on the forum when we should start with this test.

Note.1 You Dynamic campaign will not work 100% before final release of 1.2 version. With final release will be released the corrections for DGen - decreased ability to be captured. It will depends on wich distance you are from front line and on which distance you are for closest enemy units.
There aslo will be some other modifications that use the new features of the sim.

The last report we will accept on thusday and then we will compile final version and we will not return back with any fixes untill release of Expansion Pack were we plan the new features and some possible fixes.

Sorry, but this seem to imply that RC02 isn't needed. Considering this file is helping crash multiple servers, it would be really helpful if someone would clear up what's needed. If I've misread into this, forgive me.

Hmmm...now I'm wondering if the RC_01 file I downloaded from Netwings this morning is correct! I guess it doesn't matter since RC_02 cannot be downloaded and, so far, none of the sites with '02 are able to stay up. It looks like the 2 day timeframe for reporting bugs might turn into a 1 day reality, if even that much.

you will still need both Zippfiles to have a carrect "FB 1.2 RC01" on your loading screnn !

in ZippRC01new is DM, FM and FM

Zipp02 has the some new 3dfeatures (P51 bombs , correct loader opening), edited Pazifikmaps , 2 different sound. dlls


btw if you have the "original" RC01 you will see only "FB1.2RC" on the loading screnn

Why such a tight time limit? I would like to see more support for IL2FB as much as anyone else, but rushing things can only bring on more heartache.

yes you need both. RC01 contains fm,dm and stuff. RC02 contains soundfiles, loadouts, aso...

Guys - they just renamed it and put it all in one file - if you have the small rc_01 this was only part of the original download. Here Oleg is saying now the entire download is in one new file named rc01. Way to know - the RC_01 that we got last week contains only one file - files.sfs. If thats what you got its not the one Oleg is talking about. I might be wrong however http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif seems like I'm seeing two sets out there again.

Seems RC01 is enough for the loading display FB 1.2 RC 01.
And I think Oleg suppose everybody has the 1.2 beta installed. I don't know if the files.SFS can work with only 1.11. I, anyway, installed 1.2 beta before. I agree, I did something wrong. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

ATTENTION:

If you managed to download RC02 early, then you don't need this file again. You will need just RC01, becasue there are changes comparing to last week RC01.

Oy another can of worms. I think an exact list of what files are in each zip file might help alleviate some confusion. I apparently have the older 01, with just one .sfs file. So now my FB doesn't work at all. But that's my mistake. Now I have to find the new 01 (which unfortunately doesn't have a different name) and 02 when and if any servers manage to stay alive long enough. Thank you for the extra info, Mr. Maddox!

Thanks for that Oleg but I have just downloaded a file called RC01New.zip it's 15.5MB in size, is this actually the new RC01 or not?

PLS read my post above carefully !

the ZippRC01new just conatains a files.sfs file !
wich contains in general "only" the FM,DM and CEM.

the ZippRC02 contains a Map directory, skin directory, sound.dlls ,fbmaps03.sfs, fb3do4.sfs and so on.

there are the new 3Dmodels, edited maps and so on !


if you have 1.11 you NEED both files !!!!! otherwise there is no P-51-5-NT tt fly for example.

if you have the leaked 1.2BETA only ZippRC01new wokrs, but only in the case of FM,DM,CEM - because in the beta are already teh new planes and maps ! BUT NOT THE ACTUAL ones !!!!!!!


PERHPAS UBI will zipp both files togehter , who knows, BUT if NOT, you will need BOTH !!!


so:
1.2b + RC01new + RC02 is OK
1.11 + RC01new + RC02 is perfect /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Also note: the leaked 1.2 beta only has 1 snd file,
The release canidate (available today) has both
mg_snd.dll and mg_snd_.dll which Oleg is asking
us to test. You do this by renaming them.
The game will use the one named mg_snd.dll
Then let him know which one you prefer.

My system (and me) prefer the mg_snd_.dll file.
p.s. so far, more testing to do

Hope the Hurricane's flaps are fixed in the final.
I read elsewhere here that the pilot could stop the flaps anywhere along its travel.

When firing guns in the P-51 the sound is muffled and distorted. Only in the US planes and no others. Does it with both mg_sound.dll's as well.

Thanks for the long lasting support from you. You're problably the only game manufacturer that releases fixes and add-on's for this long. Il2/FB still the greatest flight sim around....

1,P-40 manual mixture doesn't work
2. Auto leveler doesn't work anymore, at all.
3. Zero should have constant speed screw, doesn't.

I believe the P-51 is a bit too slow now, but I'll leave that to the sliderule types to figure out.

Thank you for a Great sim Oleg. It just keeps getting better!
If I could make one wish, it would be for turquoise lagoons in the Pacific map!

(re)spawn points still not fixed. A couple of guys I flew with yesterday evening, still spawned on hangars. Strangely enough, this did not happen to me.

please fix it though, this is annoying.

I'm a crappy pilot, but one hell of a shot.

Mustang seems just fine now. A superb machine with excellent E retention. But it is not a Zero or La-7. It is not for slow speed turnfights and its powerloading is not all that good - as in real life.

Used appropriately, though, it beats any other plane except 262.

Ahhh thankyou Frankyboy. You've answered my question before I needed to ask it /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Just applied rc01.zip and rc02.zip to a back-up copy of FB and was surprised to see v1.2RC01 on the loading screen. but it seems that is what I should see. Thanks.

Coming from EAW, I have waited a long time to fly the P47, P51 and hopefully the P38 in the future. Thank you for bringing these planes into FB.

With the final patch coming out possibly soon, will these things be corrected?

*All P40's, P47D27 & P51 roll rates are all too slow


*I think the new Mustang is great but it does have
- some issues. It isnt as fast as it should be...high
- alt performance is lackluster(6000m and up),
aileron trim,mixture and supercharger no longer work(auto?). Dive acceleration as compared to other planes in FB is slow--In real life dive acceleration was very fast. Max dive speed is good,it just takes a long time to get there.

Hopefully all this will be fixed in the final version.

I seem to have a problem with my Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS set and FB RCO1.

Your 'controls' screen defaults the throttle power to 'U-slider' while the Cougar's is 'Z- axis'

After much problems (The set works fine with other sims Like FS2002) I discovered that the Z-axis is also used by the rudder control so without knowing it one is implementing throttle inputs when using rudder! I found this problem when i disconnected the throttle from the Joystick and the problems remained.

Still the question is does any Cougar owner knows how to overcome this double input conflicting with the standard settings of the Cougars and FB's progamming?
