i think poacher 886 is a complete a**hole, in fact i think we should ban him from this forum!!!

only kidding, thats usually how these posts start. I saw youre request for us to vote for you and i did. i would love to see some more age of sail type games. i was wondering does anyone know any good ones out there?

I played age of sail, it was good but amazingly repetitive.

I played age of sail 2, looked great, but had so many problems (even with the patches) that it sucked plus it had rubbish campaigns.

Sea dogs was great.

Pirates of the carribean was good, and looks amazing.

An older game, and one of the best i ever played was Man of war 2? do any of u remember that?

I would love to see some new games like that coming out, and imagine what theyd be like with todays graphics? is there any that ive missed?

Anyway, good luck poacher886, hope u win. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Cheer's mate, missed your post, you had me worried then.

I've not actually played any 16-17-18 centery naval games, but think with the skill, looting, port upgrades and trading etc.Not to mention all the cabins crew and cannons flying splinters everywhere it would be hard to beat for dramatic drama, and alot of content and SKILL envolved.

After all there is'nt many new direction's for sim's to go!!
I have read there is a Multiplayer game on just that due to hit our shelves this year, but of course its all online and no single player campain to get involved with!!

Think of all the ship's and upgrades http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

Did you play the mod'ed version of PotC? The one that pretty much turned it back into what it should've been, Seadogs 2? It was a massive improvement, and also fixed a hell of a lot of bugs in the original.

Age of Sail 2 is still very much alive and kicking **s as a multiplayer game - with a(perhaps small) but certainly active and dedicated following.
Only last week-end tests were conducted playing with 30 or more ships on a 20 GB server http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
So dig out your old copy and go look at:

Sealords Virtual Fleets (http://sealordsvf.org/)

or look into the forums at:

Sealords Forums (http://forum.sealordsvf.org/index.php?)

I have heard great things about the new Sid Mier's Pirates. The economy of the Caribbean is even modeled.

If you like MMORPGs, Pirates of the Burning Sea looks impressive. http://www.piratesoftheburningsea.com/index.php
