So there is no information about when the game is coming out on PC... presumably it'll be a full quarter gap, but the lack of an acutal date from Ubi has me a little nervous... especially with what happened to Ghost Recon 2 on PC...

but there hasn't been an official release date announcement yet right?

There is no date yet. I would like to point out this Assassin's Creed VideoDex #1 [North America] ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTrI8FZIXmU ) about 2: 42 he talks about why it takes so long to do the PC version.

I ordered my pc codex edition, but i heard from some people that the store is really bad with pre-orders, especially with extra content. So i'm thinking of cancelling my order and go to another webstore.

I landend on 2 different sites (i'm from belgium, so a dutch site is fine for me too):
http://www.wehkamp.nl/computer.../C09_CDR_R0E_191117/ (http://www.wehkamp.nl/computers-telecom/toepassingssoftware/pre-orders/assassin-creed-brotherhood/C09_CDR_R0E_191117/)

http://www.bartsmit.com/pc-dvd...erhood-codex-edition (http://www.bartsmit.com/pc-dvd-assassin-039-s-creed-brotherhood-codex-edition)

One says 30januari, the other "expected 1 march". All the bit reliable sites say for the release "Q1 2011", so how do they know?

(btw, if anyone has experience with one of these two sites, let me know, thanks)

Q1 2011 Means first 3 months of 2011. if that helps...

That's a kind of lame excuse since Ubisoft seems to be the only company who seems to fail on completing a game on all platforms in time.
So either Ubisoft is terrible at making games for PC or they just don't give a **** about PC gamers.

I would guess it's the latter option of your last line from what I can tell and the data we have to make educated guesses from.

I think Ubisoft will release the PC-Version in the beginning of mars because Assassins Creed 2 was released 19:november for 360 and the PS3 and for PC it was released 5 mars 2010.

Or both, themselves losing customers on it which is bad for them. Most PC gamers will just pirate the game just out of protest, and who can really blame them?

People, Ubisoft are not the only publisher to do this. A recent example of this is Fable III, same deal Xbox version released months ago, PC release Q1 2011 (might I add that this is done by Microsoft Games Studio).

I know it sucks that the PC version didn't come out at the same time.

But, you got to take solace in that when the PC version is released it has been toughly tested by the console players. With the multiplayer aspect this is defiantly a win for the PC player.

I have played AC2 on both xbox360 and PC. I have to say the PC version was better (okay I was using my xbox360 controller but that just made since to me to do that, it works great for the AC franchise in general).

Iím a software tester myself by profession. I can fully see why the console versions came out earlier than the PC version. The consoles are fixed hardware (duh, I know), software development is like a black art guys, the slightest thing can screw it up and at least 60% of the things that screw it up are environment related (think Operating Systems alone, Vista x86/x64 and Windows 7 x86/x64.)

I recently worked on a project here at work that was 2 months late, and that was mostly due to the installer! The installer had a 30hour test cycle that went back and forth between test-development 6 times (enough to drive a man crazy I tell you).

So donít lose heart guys, it'll come and then the sour taste will leave you quickly I guarantee...until AC3.

Just to prove I'm not being biased here people, I own an Xbox 360 own both AC1 and AC2 on that platform. I have pre-orded ACB on PC.

Yeah, I was waiting for Fable III to be released for Christmas or at least until New Year, but Lionhead/Microsoft Game Studios delayed it like AC:B. I read somewhere in the Fable forums that porting games to PC bugs almost everything (and particularly Fable III is buggy even for the consoles, so you could just figure out the mess). UbiSoft, and every publisher out there who has delayed a PC release, are probably fixing all the bugs, and making possible for the PC players to change graphics settings, etc., without crushes or awkward-looking animations. There are SO MANY PCs out there built with different graphics cards, CPUs... using different OS, monitors, drivers. The PC is evolving every day.

And they are introducing the Multiplayer Mode--it should be buggy as hell ; ).

I doubt UbiSoft hate PC players and delay making more money because of it. Xbox and PS3 games are also being hacked, and they are most of the times uploaded to torrent sites the very same day the publisher releases them on the market. The fact that Ubi told Gabe, or Gabe himself wanted to explain, is saying that they care at least a little bit.

Also note that ACII for PC had both DLCs ready on the DVD, so you didn't have to download them free or pay for them.

However, the delay of AC:B release has given me the opportunity to save more money during the holidays and upgrade my PC, so that I can experience the real beauty of the Assassin's Creed environment full HD and everything http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif .

Q1 is not that bad. What about Diablo III, which hasn't ever had a release date, or rumor, or something..? Blizzard seem not to care too much what people would think about their silence (it wasn't even silence, though, they said "The release date is when the game is ready" or something similar http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif )... or they probably know that whoever likes their game would buy it whenever it's released. I know I will--AC:B, Fable III, Diablo III, and every other game I like ; ) . If you are not like me, buy a console, or watch YouTube walkthrough videos.

Happy Holidays... or what's left from them. New Year--new AC game!

Comparing D3 with the ACB release? Diablo 3 hasn't been delayed since it never had a date set. That is how Blizzard work, they don't give a release date and change it a month or two before the game is released, which I prefer. Blizzard rather wait and give the release date when they know when it's done.

Also I doubt that ACB will be opted better for PC with less bugs and a wider set of video quality options. Why? AC2 came out 4 months later on the PC and was buggy and you had almost no graphical options at all.

Sorry for saying that ubisoft was the only company who did it, what I meant is that is one of few, and it doesn't exactly make Ubisoft look better, it makes the makers of Fable 3 worse.

I really shouldn't post in here because there are 15 other threads discussing this exact issue but... anyway.

If Ubisoft didn't care about PC gamers they would stop releasing PC games altogether. The fact is, no matter what the reason, be it optimisation or to combat piracy all we can do is support them.

The difference with the AC:B release is that one of the Devs has actually come out and claimed that the delay is due to optimisation. Now, as I've said in other threads if they make that claim and fail to fully optimise it for PC they'll lose a large chunk of respect from me and many other PC gamers. And by fully I mean across the board. Multi Core support, DirectX10/11, graphics options, key bindings and any other PC related awesomeness.

Only time will tell, I look forward to the release and Ubisoft actually proving the doubters wrong, that includes me. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
