How do you get the bombsight to display? I can make inputs to it, but I don't see the sight itself so I have no idea what the inputs I'm making are doing.

Thanks

In the heavy/medium bombers (B-25, TB3) jump to the bombardier position then press Shift-F1.

For the Japanese dive bomber, press Ctrl-D then Shift-F1

Thanks for the info (didn't know you had to be in the forward gunner position first to jump to bombardier). I got the sight to come up, but no crosshairs or info displayed. Still not quite getting it to work. I guess the plane must have to be on autopilot, but then it doesn't always fly over the target. How are the bombs released? I've tried every button.

Also- how do you get to fly the TBM-3?

Not the TBM-3, the TB3. It's a 1930's Russian heavy bomber that's included in Forgotten Battles/Ace Expansion Pack. It's not in Pacific Fighters standalone.

The sight must stabilise before the cross hairs appear. It takes about 30 seconds of level flight.

Use the "Level Stabiliser" control (about 7th or 8th from the top of the controls screen, you'll need to assign a key) to hold wings level while you're not in the cockpit. Use rudder trim and elevator trim to control course & altitude while on a bomb run.

There's a bombsite guide around somewhere, one of the sites listed in this thread (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=23110283&m=51910959) is sure to have it.

There's a B25 guide in my sig, plenty more on airwarfare.com. Tully's correct about the stabilising thing - you have to be wings level and holding altitude for a while for the bombsight to display. Any excessive movement will throw the gyros off and you'll have to wait a while until the crosshairs appear again.

The more violent your movements, the longer you'll have to wait. Thus plan your run-in to avoid steep or prolonged turns.

Thanks- a guide is just what I needed. Wish there had been a bit more info in the manual.

Pity about the Avenger- that would be fun to fly!

Is that realistic? Wouldn't flack and normal air conditions keep the site from appearing then (in the real world). Im not disputing, just asking http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Vibration isn't critical, but changes in attitude are. It's rotation (in any axis) that upsets the gyros, not translation.

Spinner's level bombing guide is awesome. I read it and now after a few practice runs I have been able to bomb the **** out of carriers at 10000 feet. Thanks spinner!!!!

Thanks MPD496, glad it was of interest to you. Over 550 downloads from our site this month and you're the only one who's actually owned up to having read it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
