You know, that KRRKKHHHRRRKK when the plane is on the edge of stall and while stalling.

In IL2 it was really loud.I could pull my aircraft to the edge without being affraid it would surprise me with a spiral.

In FB it`s very very quiet and I actually have to look at the shaking frames to recognize when I`m going into stall.

Could you make this sound louder again? In FB it really takes the "feeling" of the plane away.

PS.I had experimented with all sound volume combinations/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
PS.2 Maybe a separate volume sound setting for this?

Some planes diddnt have much warning, and combined with FFB Im ok with the way it is,you dont use FFB?Cause I think I get good input,if planes buffeting or control surfaces are fluttering I feel it in my stick at least with LW planes.

There are some sound issues in FB, but the whole sound engine has been reworked for the patch so hopefully it will be better very soon.

I know that in the P39 the engine behind me is almost entirely silent while I'm looking straight ahead (with realistic occlusions). Turn my head a few degrees and it is quite loud. In most aircraft, I rarely hear any hits to my plane.

yeah a wind buffet sound for a stall warning is needed, bullet richochets, hearing where planes are coming from with headphones, improved engine startup and sieze sounds, improved gun sounds, wheel skids when landing on concrete tarmacs better gear retracting and locking sound along many others. Sounds in fb are extremely dull and I know they are being reworked but some extras would be nice.

Oleg should have just packed the planes objs n cfgs with sfs and allowed us to addon custom map meshes, sounds, vehicles etc.

I've never been shot at in a plane, so I don't know what that sounds like. I know that the sound of buffeting is barely audible with the engine on idle, and that with an engine much much quieter than those in the planes in the game. I know that you don't hear other planes even when they're really close to you (only exception ever, my engine on idle, the other plane wing tip to wing tip doing engine run-up.) I know you don't hear the slats slamming in or out. I know that you don't hear the wheels (you often hear a lot of noise from things shaking when you land, though, especially on grass strips.)

The sounds may be dull, but most of what you're describing sounds just like my experience.

It's that nastily quiet since Il-2 1.1 for me. It was even OK in that leaked version, but got quiet in the official one. It bugged me all the time and some smart @$$es advised be to turn up my speakers. That's definately an issue. In my case I solved it by getting a FFB2 from MS /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif - but not everyone has the $$$ or some guys don't like FFB etc.

Willey,

In IL-2 you might want to try the IL2_SND.DLL from an older patch (unzip the files somewhere and grab it.) The later .DLL was hopelessly porked. I had no sound at all with hardware acceleration after one of the patches. Using the old sound .dll. fixed it. This was a problem for all C-media users as best I could determine and the cure worked for them as well.

I don't remember where I read that, but there was a 109 pilot talking about stalling and how he knew he was about to because he could hear the leading edge slats opening with a big "bang"....

Dear god no! This was one of the worse things about IL2 that was corrected in Forgotten Battles.
