They work well for me with about 5 more fps.

Are these beta drivers?

Yeah they're beta and two days after they were released 76.10 came out. They increased my frame rates but left me with black water in il2. Every other program has had a slight increase in performance with the new drivers and no major issues.

No they are not beta drivers. They were certified a few days ago.

Running 71.84 with WinME, seem fine..nice and smooth. Have always used latest drivers. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Yup, WHQL's from Nvidia.

Installed them this afternoon.

6800GT
Perfect settings
Water=1, Trees=2
Online on the Warbirds late Pacific server, over Guadalcanal...
4xAA, 8xAF
65fps avg.
And color saturation seems better, but I have no way to measure that, just a subjective scan with the Mk.1 eyeball.

Good results here. Couldn't be happier.

Haven't had a good experience with these. They are the first NVIDIA driver that causes the machine (video, sound, keyboard, mouse) to freeze up for 5 sec to 30 sec at a time. Doesn't matter what the program is. If its 3D, its buggered.

I don't know if its because I'm using a 6800GT that comes overclocked from the mfg or something else. Had to go back to an earlier driver version.

I was on th eVGA forums to see what others experienced, cos I installed these and my 6800 GT went up 12 degrees (to 70 degrees) at idle! I can't be certain if those are actual or false readings - I've heard both. I'm not taking any chances tho'...back to 66.93

I finally got these installed after an excessive amount of lockups, CTD's this weekend using the 66.93's. The IQ is better (for me at least) and I haven't run any real tests to see if indeed there IS an improvement in performance. However, I flew last night for an hour or so and must say initial results look quite good.

More later.

good drivers but more for fixing SLI bugs in some (LOMAC) games and other fixes for 6 series cards.
The release notes, note that temperature reportung is 20% higher than it should be.

If you can't find the familiar "Refresh Rate Overide" in the driver tab, set the required RF under the "Monitor" Tab after clicking on Advanced and you can check this in the driver tab under "Screen Resolutions and Refresh Rate"
I do believe that it is necessary to have the game RF set the same as the desktop RF for this to work properly.

My temps went up too, so I got rid of them, plus whenever i'd take a screenshot not matter how much aa or af I had turned up on the card, the screenie looked horrible? In game was good, so I don't understand this.
Also I went back to 66.81, is there any improvement with the 66.93's?

The reasons the temps are reported higher is becasue of a reporting bug in the driver...

This was a bug in the beta as well, here is a link to the forum

Refresh rate absence is the serious issue with these drivers, everything else is exelent (IQ and speed). I have 6800ultra.

I went back to the 66.93 drivers.
Reasons:
(1) No refresh rate override settings
(2) "False" temp readings?
(2) Current Coolbits version inop with 71.84?

Since I was happy with the 66.93 drivers, I'll wait.

Yes the lack of the old panel's Refresh Rate Overide tab could become a problem indeed. Especially for those who like to run the game at a different resolution to their desktop.
I have my desktop at 1024x768x32@100hz and run the game the same.
My game runs at 100Hz.
The release has a neat monitor calibration tool included as well

The 76.10 Beta release notes say they have corrected the tempature reporting bug. Guru3d says this version will most likely be the next official NVidia release.

I have an Nvidia GF4 Ti4800 x8 AGP running WinXP-SP2. The Guru 71.90 is a good one for me.

Hi,
I just installed these drivers into my nVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4600 and the improvement in speed is major. Not only in the game but also throughout my complete system.

the new drivers caused severe visual anomalies with my 6600gt - the water flashed black and the cloud rendering was screwed up as well...
rolled back to 66.93 hopefully the next nvidia driver will be right.

i didnt try 7184 and i swapped directly from 71.25 to 71.46 and no temperature bug and little more FPS !

Black Death Track 1024x768 image set on Quality and x2QAA

71.25 ---> min 16 max 102 med 47

71.46 ---> min 18 max 107 med 50

this results with asus 6800 gt 128 mb . athlon xp 2500 @ 2132 1 gb ddr 400 dual channel .
