Thanks woofiedog!

Some great stuff in those vids.

If the USAAF had not taken away the turbocharger the P39 would be seen in a totally different light today.

Amazing what another four or five hundred BHP at altitude can do for you.

Agree that with the turbocharger... the P-39 would have made a better show of it's self in the Pacific battles and maybe in the skies over African if it had been excepted by the RAF and used along side the P-40's. Guess we'll never know though. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Perhaps and perhaps not. It's a difficult plane to fly compared to the P-40 and Hurricane.

Great footage, but I think Bell Aircraft bribed the narrator. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

R_Target... Although I enjoy flying the P-39 in IL-2... I'm sure a few of those RAF pilots back then had a laugh or two over a pint while watching that film and hearing the narrator's description of the P-39. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

A few more P-63 photo's close up. Sadly this aircraft was lost during an air show in 2001. (http://ambiorix.spymac.com/introduction.html)
