During the Coral Sea single player campaign, most of the time a small Japanese fishing boat spawns about a mile off the starboard side of the US fleet. For the US player this is bad, because the US destroyers start shooting at it immediately, putting rounds right across the flight deck of the USS Yorktown, blowing away the planes waiting to launch. Does anyone know a way to edit the fishing boa

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Now, that's a great bug.

Open the mission in the Full Mission Builder and delete the fishing boat. Nothing can be simplier. You may wish to switch off "show aircraft" in the FMB menu, so that you don't know what surprises the mission has for you.

As for the DGen edit you are asking for in the duplicite thread you (probably and hopefully) accidentally started, it could be a little more difficult. I think the first method is easier. You will find the mission in Campaigns -> UN -> dgen***something folder.

Hey thanks for the info! Sorry for the dupe topics, that was an accident.

I am experiencing the same bug using DCG's Coral Sea Campaign, with full auto-generation mode enabled and DGEN replaced by DCG.

Does anyone know how to rectify this humorous, but fatal, situation ?

Use Full mission builder to remove (delete) that naughty fishing boats from your mission. Load up your mission in question in FMB.

Like Utchoud said, path is something like Campaigns -> UN -> dgen***something folder. My path for Marine campaign looks like \IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\Missions\Campaign\UM\dgen_1_wakedoe0

For example your mission file will look like

50520-0.mis

Numbers being
50520-0.mis -- mission year 1945
50520-0.mis -- date of mission, 20th May
50520-0.mis -- number of the mission flown that day; for example you may flown one more mission on 20th May 1845, then it would be 50520-1.mis

This remove the boats from that particular mission but will it remove the boats from the next mission?

No. Unfortunately you must remove it constantly from mission to mission.

What I am trying to say that your action will produce no outcome to future mission creating by game. They may spawn, or they may not spawn but there is nothing you can do about it except to edit the mission.

However this isn't 100% sure, just IMO, I have not properly tested that. But from experience I had with editing some career missions I have came up to this conclusion.

Nonetheless try it..

Hi again,

I'm just curious - what version of the game are you running? Because I tried to start the Coral Sea camapign several times, and no fishing boat appeared.

FB+AEP+PF Version 4.01

DCG Version 3.17

This glitch has thus far occurred every time I have attempted to commence DCG's Coral Sea Campaign as a carrier-based US Navy pilot.

Does anyone have a way of remedying this without entering the DCG program after every mission, as this somewhat defeats the purpose and utility of full auto-generation mode with DGen replaced by DCG.

Thanks.

Aha - I don't have DCG. Unfortunately, I'm also not experienced in using DCG.

Perhaps you can try this: DGen has files where the information about ships and other objects that may be spawned stored in a file that looks like this (DGen\CoralSeaBlue.mis - objects of the blue side):

Similarly, there's a "CoralSeaRed.mis" file with objects of the red side. DCG should generate a similar file for the campaign, I guess. Try to locate it, probably somewhere in the DCG folder. If you succeed, post it here - or maybe you will already know how to proceed.
