Ok, I'm really not someone you can call "up to date"... I begun flying Sturmovik (not FB!) one month ago. Only yesterday I patched the game. I was amazed having my FF2 stick centering itself, and also having some new planes to fly (heard people crying about some planes missing from a PF patch... can't understand them!).
Well... after patching the game (I simply copied the files on the dir-tree of the game, right?) I discovered I can trim russian planes, but on german planes I can only trim the elevator...
I'm almost sure I messed up something. Can anyone help?
Thanks.
Ciao.

Some planes do not have rudder/aileron trim...
Checkout this post in the Practice Tips for newcomers (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=23110283&m=8901086932&r=4671019742#4671019742)

(I'm not much into trimming yet... right now I'm building an extra control thingy which will have trim on a slider...;-)

I actually waited three years before taking advantage of trim and once you get used to factoring it in while flying the airplane you'll never look back. Not only can you reach greater cruising speeds because you aren't constanting messing witht he stick, but if trimmed properly the plane will manuever better and become a more stable gun platform.

PS FW aileron trim was set on the ground.

Thanks all you guys.
So it seems some planes don't have trimmers... Like the Rata - it has really NO trimmer. Where can anyone see this details for a plane?
Another noobish question: after installing the patch, I can't see some of the new planes in the object viewer... Why?
Re-thanks and ciao.

The planes that people are "crying" about are planes that aren't in PF patches, which you don't have. That's why you don't understand them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Oh and about trim

I think its great for level flying and cruising, but I always love having some positive trim on my plane when fighting. It lets you recover from a dive more efficiently (no, I dont have my trim on a slider :P) and also allows you to place your gunsight below a target and let it slowely rise up, then shoot. I find that to be the most accurate way of shooting a stationary target http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The object viewer is usually the last thing to be updated. Apart from the original IL2 Sturmovik release, I don't think it's ever included information for all Flyable and AI aircraft. You may also find that it's not always correct about performance or available weapons.

The developers are very busy working on this game series addons and patches and on the new game engine for the next game series. Some of the staff are also consulting occasionally for other 1C games not related to flight sims. As the object viewer is considered a non-essential extra, it tends not to be allocated man hours for updates.
