Blimey, this is my first experience of the fall outs and ups of a patch release, and after digging my way through all the posts i don't think there's been this much fervour since the salem witch trials http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If nothing else, it shows the basic achievement of this sim that people can get so het up over changes to it! Its something i'm beginning to understand as i start my tortuous learning curve, though maybe i'm only being placid because i don't get broadband till probably next week so can't download the updates yet. Then maybe i'll be all "f******g hell my fav f******g ride is all f******g bo**ocked up! i demand revenge, REVENGE!!! WHERE'S THE MEAT TENDERISER MUM???" cough.

Probably though, i'll just drink more tea.... probably http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Its ok...its part of all of our healing processes http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We yell, scream, kick, and then go and spend another 10 hours of our life infront of the thing.

Bit like a birth then!

mind you, i have to admit that today when i fudged a landing after a (for me) successful op, i did have to repress the urge to jump up and do a little dance of disbelief... oh no.. what's happening to me? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

Cure for patch fever

1. Install and play all versions of IL2. See which one you like the most. Stick with it. Don't complain if its not the most recent one.

2. Go and fly Aces High, Targetware and CFS3 with Firepower and the 1% planes added. See which one you like the most. If you like it more than IL2, stick with it. If it's not as good as IL2, come back.

3. Install the Patch. Play it. Stick with it. Don't complain. Recognise that there are multiple interpretations of data, conflicting eyewitness accounts and subjectivity is rife with regard to a 60-70 year old airframe. Realise that Il2 always has been, and still is, a work in progress. Enjoy the game for what it is and look foward to the next patch http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Patient/Patientette -- "how long mad docs?"
MadDocs -- "two weeks(tm)"
