k...i got wide screen on(in game)...i understand at games splash screen and breif shows blk bars.
in game as its in wide screen, chat window still margined in.plus, arrows in game(if used)dont show on right side. left side arrows if u notice will be along chats margin...NOT all the way to screens edge.
guess this is as good as it can get...that my question...its NOT %100. true or false pilots. there ARE flaws in running wide screen in win7 64.

Have you edited your conf.ini file to reflect your resolution settings?

If you are talking about Il-2 and not COD, read this:

yea...i did settings in config...i get the wide screen IN GAME....but its not perfect. thinking of returning to xp just for the games best experence. tell me thou....when u pilots use wide screen with win7...it isnt perfect...true?

No, but it isn't perfect on XP either. Widescreen is not supported in this game. This is not an XP vs. Win7 or a 32bit vs. 64bit issue.

If you did it right you won't be getting black bars, the screen will fit your rectangular widescreen monitor.

But the game doesn't really provide you with true widescreen, it's an old game from 10 years ago when everyone had crappy square old CRT's. If you use a CRT you get a wider field of vision, it's flattened out a bit with a rectangular monitor. There's a tool you can use to get true widescreen but it's buggy.

Are you talking about Sans Viewer?

Google "ecrans wide" over on mission4today for the load screen fix. Works for me and looks great

The wide screen mod chops off the top and bottom of your field of view to fit your monitor. It does not make the game truly widescreen.

Like gothkrieger suggests, San's field of view changer is the way to go. It's a little bit buggy now and then, but its improvements are totally worth it. I was able to map the fov to one of my rudder pedal brakes, and it makes zooming in and out so easy. I love it.

speaking of which,

my fov is stuck at about 60% and for some reason
my 3d hearing out of my right channel is muffled, particularly to rear and above.
The headphones work fine with other programs, so i'm certain something is wrong with the game.
Perhaps a corrupt file.

I ran Sans FOV changer for a while, but its constant crashing (like once every few flights) that required to exit mission got to me in the end. Fingers and toes crossed that sombody among the great mod makers will make an integrated FOV mod that is far more stable.
