I'm a novice. I am trying to map my fighterstick using CH control manager for use in IL2. Helpful in this effort would be the ability to print out the assigned keyboard symbols as seen in "controls" in the game. Is there a way to do that? Or is there at least a list of controls (to which keyboard symbols can be assigned manually) that can be printed. I found one for Forgotten Battles on the rottentomatoes site. Is there one for Sturmovik?

Well, I just created a Word document and used it to record my settings. My key assignments are no longer the default set as I set them to suit my tastes - one of the really good features of this game.

A key board fold-out came with my version of the game for default settings. Did not yours?

When I got the "original" Il-2, it came bundled with a set of CH ProPedals and no manual. (Some here may recall my first post almost a year ago...). I had no idea about key assignments either. The best thing I can say is to either get out a pad and pencil and start your own list, or you may try the following link. http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/IL2/il2_main.htm
There is tons of info at airwarfare.

Welcome to the madness. You've got quite a learning curve ahead, but it is well worth it. So you know, very few are still running "original" Il-2. Most are using Forgotten Battles, Ace Expansion Pack, and Pacific Fighters merged in to one great sim. Look for one of Bearcat 99's posts and follow the links. Lots more good info there.

You could printscreen your desktop when you have the controls window open. Then simply crop and print.

If you have a photo editing program, you can also make a diagramed picture of your controller. It'll help a lot until you get used to where all the controls are. Here is an example with an X52 joystick.

Hope this helps

I found a chart a while back that helped me. With my X-45, I 3 different modes, plus the modes that "shift" with the pinky switch...This is how I started:

For those who need the long answer:

Hit PrtScn key

Then, Start/All Progams/Accessories/Paint

In Paint click edit, then Paste

You can then save it or export it as your needs require.

You can download an Excel file of the default controls here:

http://www.iron-angels.co.uk/html/miscellaneous.html

Space there to add custom keys and any VAC commands.
