View Full Version : New AC Teaser site hints @ RD! and funny theories!

new teaser site has been posted by Ubisoft Montreal, hinting at a Holiday release date.

We were alerted to the site by Ubisoft PR, so it is indeed legit.

The site contains a flash animation that shows a bloody quill falling slowly against a white background. Scrambled digital symbols and words appear hinting that there might be something to the game beyond the ancient sword-fighting dynamic we've already been shown..

A strange message appears saying "Nothing is True," and "Everything is permitted," is folowed with a date: November 14, 2007.

Could this be the game's release date? Many have speculated the game had been pushed back into 2008, though it seemed pretty polished when we saw it at X07 this summer.

A Nov. 14 release date would be confusing however, as it's a Wednesday. Most games are released on a Tuesday.

Perhaps Ubisoft will reveal a new Assassin's Creed website, or new unreleased details about the game.

In any case, gamers should "Be prepared", on Nov. 14 for some Assassin's Creed goodness.

As you can see here at ArsTechnica, Ubisoft has presented us with the following teaser via e-mail: a bloody feather drops into a white screen along with the title, "Document sans nom." The writing says, "Nothing is true. Everything is permitted." Then flashes of molecular diagrams assault the screen for a few seconds (what is this, Folding@Home?), and that's all we have to go on. Well, they give us the date of this secret unveiling, which just so happens to be the launch day for Assassin's Creed: November 14. Could this have something to do with that genetic memory mystery everyone has been talking about?

Ubisoft has been relatively forthright in regards to news for this game, giving interviews and answering plenty of questions. But it doesn't look like they'll break their silence on this one until the game releases. Basically, this only means we get a chance to speculate and debate for another three weeks...and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Assassins Creed takes place inside a computer simulation. Ooohhuhoohhhhhhh

I thought that was more or less common knowledge at this point. One of the gameplay videos has faux debug messages on the screen and another has a scientist in a white lab coat show up after player death.

You've seen the cut version. In the full spoiler, while the scientist is watching the simulation, Altair sneaks up from behind her and guts her with his mechanical dagger.

Then he wakes up and realizes it was a dream.

Then he walks outside and continues to play from the last save point.

Assassin's creed is a test that takes place inside of an advanced theoretical physics lab somewhere in the southwestern USA, administered by a pervasive, sadistic, yet strangely warmhearted computer system gone completely psychotic and who is obsessed with cake.

Just sayin'.
